A new ranking of the highest-selling video games as of November 2025 is currently making the rounds across Reddit and gaming socials. It looks simple at first, but once you take a look at it, the numbers hide a few surprises and a few question marks.
Some games include bundled copies, some rely on older data, and a few titles that should be in the Top 10 are still missing official numbers.
Top 10 Highest Selling Games (Units Sold)
Here is the list that is currently being shared online:
The image shows the following:
- Minecraft – 350M
- Grand Theft Auto V – 220M
- Wii Sports – 82.9M
- Red Dead Redemption 2 – 79M
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 78M
- PUBG – 75M
- Terraria – 64M
- The Witcher 3 – 60M
- Super Mario Bros. – 58M
- Human: Fall Flat – 55M
Why The Rankings Are Not Straightforward
The list looks simple, but as users pointed out on Reddit, the numbers rely on different rules.
Wii Sports is counted even though it came bundled with almost every Wii console. Mario Kart 8 sells really well on its own, but it also gets a boost from Switch bundle deals. Human: Fall Flat sold huge numbers because it was almost free in parts of Asia for a long time.
On the other hand, Skyrim should easily be somewhere in this list, but Bethesda has never shared clear, up-to-date totals. The same goes for Tetris and older multi-edition games that never had unified tracking. This is why the chart is accurate enough to show the biggest hitters, but not perfect.
Surprises And Quiet Giants
Terraria is one of the most surprising entries. Fifteen years of updates and constant community support pushed it into the top group. Red Dead Redemption 2 sits high thanks to its steady sales over the years, even without any live service support. The Witcher 3 continues to climb every year without multiplayer or microtransactions, which is impressive on its own.
Minecraft and GTA 5 remain untouchable for now. Both are available on almost every platform and continue to sell millions each year.
The Bigger Picture Behind the List
If you take the chart as a rough snapshot, it tells you which games currently (still) dominate the global market. Just keep in mind that the way these numbers are counted varies a lot, and that is why some titles rise or fall depending on who collects the data.
Nevertheless, it is a fun look at how massive some of these games have become, and how older releases continue to grow even in 2025.
