It’s been a very rough day for Highguard so far. After almost zero advertising or marketing, the game has launched with mostly negative reviews on Steam. Yet despite this, the devs have also released the roadmap for future gameplay patches and updates. Will this be enough to save Highguard?
Highguard 2026 Roadmap

Amidst the thousands of people trying out Highguard for the first time, the devs have released their full content roadmap for 2026. Future updates will include:
- More Wardens
- New Maps
- Ranked Mode
- New Bases
- New Mounts
- New Tools, Weapons, Amulets, and Loot
- New Limited Time Mode
- & More
Episode 2 and Beyond

From their roadmap, we can see that every content update will drop in two parts, kind of like Marvel Rivals, which has two parts to each season. So, coming in February, fans will be getting a new Warden, a brand-new Mount to ride alongside a brand-new Map. Not only that, but Ranked Mode will be dropping in the first update as well.
Later in March, Highguard will receive a new base and a brand-new raid tool. The new base is what is already raising the most questions. For instance, will bases be random every time you drop into a match, or will different bases only spawn on certain maps? Perhaps players can vote for different bases at the start of each match.
Aside from this, disptie March being a little light in content, each following month will have some new additions. So if you aren’t a fan of whatever March brought, simply wait for April for another new Warden or some new weapons & Mods.
Will This Be Enough?
At the time of writing, the internet is still very uncertain about how they feel about Highguard’s gameplay loop, the mixing of several game mechanics, and poor optimization. Even when bugs are fixed, will this fresh wave of new content be enough to keep players interested, or has that ship already sailed?
In the meantime, keep an eye on our Other Games section for more news and updates.
