While many players are busy exploring, building, and surviving on Arrakis, there’s one feature in Dune: Awakening that you might be overlooking: the in-game radio. And it’s not just for background music, it’s the best thing you can access in the game if you want a good laugh!
Some players recently discovered how surprisingly good this feature is, and they’re loving it!
Dune: Awakening’s In-Game Radio Is a Hit
“I laughed! I cried! I died to dehydration because I wasn’t paying attention!“
That’s how one Reddit user described their experience with the in-game radio. And it’s not hard to see why. The radio doesn’t just play music: it also features radio plays, sitcom-style shows, propaganda broadcasts, and more. Everything is fits perfectly into the world of Dune, and you may have a good laugh while exploring Arrakis.
It’s really a nice immersive way to keep you company while you:
- Gather materials
- Craft gear
- Manage your base
- Or just chill in the desert
However, don’t forget to hydrate while you do!
How to Use the Radio in Dune: Awakening
Here are easy steps to follow in order to turn on or off your radio in Dune: Awakening:
- Open your Social Menu.
- Click on the Communinet tab, or use the required buttons (usually Q/E for Keyboard, or RB/LB R1/R2 for controllers), scroll through until you reach the Communinet tab.

- Pick any station you want to listen to.
- If you want to turn it off again, go back to the Communinet tab and pick “Radio Station: None” at the top.
One standout is the Harvester Station, which includes stories, satire, and even in-world government propaganda, which is adding a cool layer of lore and storytelling!
