Death Stranding 2: On the Beach includes a hidden surprise if you play the game on your birthday. Just like in the first game, you are asked to enter your birthdate when you start. But this time, something special happens, if you are far enough into the story!
Here is how to see the secret birthday scene!
What You Need to Do
In order to trigger the secret Birthday scene, there are a few steps you need to follow:
- When you start the game, enter your birthday. If your birthday is already passed, you can enter a random upcoming date. Otherwise, you will have to wait a year for it to trigger.
- Reach Episode 3, when you unlock the DHV Magellan ship.
- On your birthday, go into your private room on the Magellan.
What Happens When You Enter the Ship?
You will see a funny 90-second cutscene where:
- The crew turns off the lights and shouts “Happy Birthday!”
- Heartman brings a cake.
- Charlie’s robot body crashes through the floor and ruins the cake.
- Higgs, the villain, shows up and sings Happy Birthday with the others (nobody seems to care he’s evil).
- He brings a pizza, Sam slaps it, and then… Sam wakes up.

Yes, You Can Get Rewards
It would not be a birthday if you would not get some cool gifts, so here are the rewards you obtain after watching this cutscene in game:

Remember, you can only see this scene once a year. If your birthday passes before you hit Episode 3, you will need to wait until next year, or adjust your date to get it sooner.
