It’s been a long while since we have heard anything from the folks over at Hypixel Studios, but today finally marks the full release of Hytale Update 4. This update brings a whole lot to the table, including 500+ New Blocks, Proximity Voice Chat, New Hairstyles, New Emotes & and much more!
Hytale Update 4 Highlights
There’s a lot to unpack with this update, but there’s definitely some noteworthy stuff to highlight. Firstly, over 500 New Blocks are coming with this update, but over half of them are exclusive to the Creative Inventory.
New additions include:
- Complete Limestone, Slate, Chalk, and Cooled Magma block sets
- Stair and half slabs for Rock, Cloth, Smooth Clay, and Dirt block sets
- Gravel and Gravel half slabs for existing rock types
- Bronze, Copper, Zinc, and Iron block sets (Creative Mode)
- Dead Coral blocks (Creative Mode)
- Cybercity blocks (Creative Mode)
- Ferns and adjusted Grass block sets
- T-junctions and four-way junctions for fences and walls
- Many new cloth and tent roof block types.
Some of the items currently exclusive to the Creative Inventory are blocks with incomplete or missing pieces. Some brand new Sci-Fi blocksets are also locked to the Creative Inventory.
Proximity Voice Chat
Hytale Update 4 is also introducing dynamic Proximity Voice Chat. Not only will you hear your friends screaming off in the distance, but the sound and echo will completely change depending on your environment. That means being inside a cave will give your voice a stronger echo than it would underwater.
Existing Block Updates
Older blocks have also gotten some updates as well. One notable change is making fences connect better. You can now create connections in “T” shapes and “Cross” shapes, making it much easier to fence in your animals or your house.
Saplings have also been updated to include multiple growth stages before they sprout into mature trees. All the necessary seeds have been added to the farming bench for all the tree species; they can be crafted, planted, and grown in “stages” until the tree reaches adult form.
But of course, the devs are fully focused on polishing and updating thousands of blocks, so there will continue to be additions to both pre-existing and new blocks in future updates.
Avatar & Cosmetic Updates
Update 4 also introduces a handful of new hairstyles for players to rock and an emote wheel with 9 Emotes in total. Of course, the folks at Hypixel Studios have already made it easy to import and create your own custom emotes as well.
New Creative Tools
There’s also a new Creative Tool making its way to Hytale: Revolve! This new tool allows you to paste rotations of your current selection any number of times or fully around a center point.
Honorable Mentions in Hytale Update 4
There’s a massive list of changes to comb through, but here are some we thought were still worth mentioning:
- Players can now craft Copper and Iron Sickles at the Farming Workbench
- Added Tiers 3, 4, and 5 to the Alchemist’s Bench.
- Removed Tiers 9 and 10 from the Farmer’s Workbench.
- All Rock, Wood, and Metal full blocks can now be used to craft Half Slabs and Stairs at the Builder’s Workbench.
- Blood, Storm, and Azure crop seeds are now crafted at the Alchemist’s Workbench and have had their crafting requirements changed.
- Empty Small and Large Potion Bottles can now be crafted at the Alchemist’s Workbench.
- Blood, Storm, and Azure plants can be salvaged at the Salvager’s Workbench to produce their respective petals.
- Crystal Fertilizer has been added and can be crafted at the Alchemist’s Workbench. It is a requirement for Blood, Storm, and Azure crops.
- 40 new blocks have been added to the Cloth block set, including stairs and half slabs for each colour.
- Over 30 new blocks have been added to the Cooled Magma block set, including bricks, cobble, stalactites, and rubble.
- Over 20 new blocks have been added to the Chalk block set, including cobble and rubble.
- Over 10 new blocks have been added to the Slate Brick block set.
- Over 10 new blocks have been added to the Limestone block set, and its textures have been expanded upon.
- Added the Apple, Camphor, Spiral, and a fully redesigned Frostwood tree species.
- Defeated NPCs will now trigger death particles and drop items when their body disappears.
- Moose have been slowed down by 20%.
