After the backlash of the 1.5 update, Infinity Nikki revealed its next major patch, 1.6 Playful Season, dropping June 12. With charming new events, a fairyland aesthetic, and long-overdue fixes, all eyes are on Infold to see if they can turn things around.
The State of Nikki So Far
Since its December launch, Infinity Nikki became really popular, especially with cozy game and fashion sim fans, thanks to its beautiful open world and inviting community. But the glow faded quickly as updates fell short of expectations and monetization grew aggressive.
At the end of April, Infold launched the big 1.5 update, new zones, storyline continuation, a new miracle outfit, and more. However, this update turned out to be more controversial than expected and brought a lot of frustration to the community. The game was plagued with:
- Technical issues on lower-end devices
- Quest bugs and UI confusion
- Gacha odds remained difficult, requiring heavy participation from players
The player base pushed back hard. Content creators cut ties, citing ignored feedback and exploitative monetization. In response, Infold delayed 1.6, apologized, and promised quality-of-life improvements moving forward.
What is New in 1.6: Playful Season
Now the trailer for 1.6 Playful Season is here, giving the first real look at the update’s content, set to go live June 12. Highlights include:
- New Quest: A whimsical fairy turned into a beretsant chicken
- Event Zone: Stoneville returns with a storybook vibe
- Event Activities:
- Windsong Tunnel (flying event)
- Thuddy Squash Spin (picture setting)
- Beretsant Hop-on
- Snoring Maze (platformer realm challenge)
- Free Outfit: Misty Poetics, an elegant, Chinese-inspired 3-star long dress
- Freebies: At least 15 Revelation Crystals and 3200 Diamonds up for grabs
New Gacha Banners
As with every new update, we are also interested in the new Gacha banners, in this case, new Nikki outfit players will have to grind for. Here are the outfits highlighted in the trailer:
- A regal golden princely outfit with cape and crown (likely 4★):

- A pink fairy ballgown with fairy wings and pointy hat (likely 5★):

Is Redemption in Sight?
Infold is already teasing optimizations and feedback-based improvements in recent blog posts, signaling that they are listening. More info is expected in the coming days, especially about the new gacha outfits and feedback adjustments.
The real question is if 1.6 can redeem Infinity Nikki. Or will it take more time for Infold to address the quality issues of their updates?
