Could Hollow Knight: Silksong be closer than we think?
A hidden update to the Hollow Knight: Silksong store page on Xbox has the community hyped once again. There was no visible change, but it was the first update to the listing in six months, and with Summer Games Fest just around the corner, lots of fans are hoping we might finally hear something real.
Silksong is one of the most anticipated indie games of 2025, and fans are desperate for news!
Team Cherry still has not said anything publicly, but the timing has people crossing fingers for a proper trailer and maybe even a release date at SGF or the Xbox showcase in early June.

Silksong is the sequel to the original Hollow Knight, one of the most loved indie games of the last decade. It takes the signature 2D Metroidvania gameplay and makes everything faster, more agile, and harder. This time, you play as Hornet as she explores a strange new kingdom filled with silk, traps, secrets, and over 150 unique enemies.
The game is still confirmed for PC and consoles, and is expected to launch on Game Pass.
What Caused the Hype This Time?
The Xbox store page was updated silently in the backend. No front-facing changes were made, but the community caught it and quickly started speculating. Usually, this kind of update happens just before announcements, but it could also be nothing significant. At this point, everything is a mix of speculation and… hope?
But considering how long fans have been waiting, even the tiniest change is enough to kick the subreddit back into full obsession mode.

A 2025 Release Still Feels Possible
All in all, most speculation is culminating in the fact that Silksong is most likely still targeting a release before June 30, 2025. That would also line up with Microsoft’s fiscal year end, so a reveal at Summer Game Fest or the Xbox Showcase would make perfect sense.
For now, there is no official word, but if something is coming, we will find out soon.
Silksong is also still sitting at the top of Steam’s most wishlisted games list, even without a release date.
