Did Rockstar Just Show Us Part of the GTA 6 Map?
GTA 6 fans are, once again, hanging onto a possible new clue about the game’s map – and it has been hiding in plain sight for months.
In one of the official GTA 6 artworks, Brian Heder is holding what looks like a printed map. That alone would not be a big deal, except some fans now believe it might be our first actual look at a piece of the in-game world.
The discussion resurfaced thanks to a post by @GTABase on X/Twitter, calling it the “first look at the GTA VI map.” The tweet triggered an immediate debate, with players zooming in, analyzing the layout, and trying to figure out if it is a small island, a full state, or just something Rockstar threw in randomly.

The replies range from jokes about the “Mapping Project” Group already rebuilding it in Blender to serious speculation about whether or not this confirms a larger multi-region map. Either way, the image got people talking again about how massive the final game world might be.
How Big Will the GTA 6 Map Be?
We already know GTA 6 is heading back to Vice City, and that we can expect the map to be much larger than GTA 5’s. The question is how much of the full game world this teaser actually represents.
We know GTA 6 takes place in and around Vice City, but there has been a lot of talk about additional regions. Fans have pointed to earlier leaks and trailer footage showing a mix of urban, rural, and island zones – and this new artwork might fit into that picture.
Based on the map’s size and detail, some players are guessing it could be just one of several playable areas. However, as a few other fans pointed out, it also kind of looks more like a standalone island, not the full map. Without official confirmation, it is still up in the air.
GTA VI launches on May 26, 2026, so there is still plenty of time for Rockstar to reveal more. Until then, it is probably safe to say that players will keep combing through every trailer frame and artwork in case the next big hint is already out there – just waiting to be noticed.
