Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hits 4 Million Sales With New Trailer

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is having a huge moment. A few days ago, Warhorse Studios confirmed that the game has already passed 4 million units sold, and to top it off, they just released a new Royal Edition launch trailer (and the edition itself is now live!), with even more content included.

4 Million Sales, Quietly Climbing

Even though not everyone is talking about it, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has pulled impressive numbers. This is even more impressive, considering the studio has barely promoted it online.

Warhorse Studios confirmed 4 million sales across all platforms – a strong number for a grounded, story-driven RPG with no co-op, no microtransactions, and no open-world fluff.

This momentum is impressive, especially since the game has a niche appeal and a pretty steep learning curve, mainly in combat. It is a slower experience by design, but fans of immersive RPGs are clearly showing up.

What the Royal Edition Includes

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Royal Edition – Official Launch Trailer

The trailer shows off the full Royal Edition, which includes several extras, as well as all three story expansions.

Story Expansions:

  • Brushes with Death
  • Legacy of the Forge
  • Mysteria Ecclesiae (just released last week)

Extras:

  • Hardcore Mode
  • Horse Racing
  • Barber Mode
  • Gallant Huntsman’s Kit
  • Shields of the Seasons Pack
  • The Lion’s Crest Quest

So, if you are jumping in now, you will basically get a full year’s worth of content to explore – and on top of that, a bunch of cosmetic and gameplay bonuses packed in.

Crafting Is Optional, But Very Detailed

One thing the trailer does not explain, but players keep mentioning, is how hands-on the crafting system still is. Just like in the first game, you are not just clicking menus:

  • Brewing potions means collecting herbs, grinding ingredients, heating mixtures, and following recipes step by step
  • Recipes are learned through books or experimentation
  • Crafting is not mandatory, but mastering it is profitable – especially in hardcore mode
  • Alchemy and blacksmithing can create serious value, but everything can still be bought or looted

Crafting is immersive and methodical, but if you do not want to deal with it, you can skip most of it with little penalty.

Saving Is Less Harsh Than Before

The original Kingdom Come was infamous for its “Saviour Schnapps” save potion requirement. That mechanic does still exist in KCD2, but the system is far more forgiving now:

  • Autosaves are more generous
  • “Save & Exit” now works
  • Save potions are easier to buy or ignore
  • Beds and quest saves remain active
  • You can still craft your own saves if you want the immersive approach

There is still no traditional quicksave, which might frustrate some players, but the experience has clearly been softened since the first game.

Realism Still Defines the Experience

Keep in mind that this is still a slow-burn RPG. Combat can feel stiff at first, but it becomes fluid once you unlock master strikes and counter options. Hunger, fatigue, and progression are all part of the journey. The game does not hand you everything.

And yes, that is the point. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 wants you to get into character, pay attention to details, and literally earn your success. It is not trying to be easily approachable. It is trying to be grounded – and that is exactly what Kingdom Come’s growing fanbase wants.

The new trailer gives us a great overview of where Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 stands right now. The systems are intricate, the tone is rather serious (but the game still has humor), and the experience is unique. And with over 4 million copies sold already, this might be the most “quietly” successful RPG of the year.
