Blizzard has accidentally revealed its next crossover for Overwatch, and this time, it is teaming up with NieR: Automata!

The Overwatch x Project YoRHa collaboration is going to launch on March 10 alongside the game’s mid-season patch. Of course, the collab comes with a ton of premium character skins inspired by the iconic action-RPG.

Five Heroes Getting NieR Skins

The collab has not really been announced yet, but a YouTube short was released on the official Overwatch channel yesterday and was shortly removed afterwards. Someone pushed the post button a little bit too early on that one. According to that short clip, five heroes will receive themed cosmetics as part of the crossover:

  • Kiriko as 2B
  • Vendetta as A2
  • Wuyang as 9S
  • Lifeweaver as Adam
  • Mercy as Commander White

Even if the video was quickly taken down, players took screenshots much faster, as usual. Since the collab is supposed to go live soon, an official announcement should follow in a few days.

More Than Just Skins?

At the moment, Blizzard has not officially confirmed anything, and the short only showed the skins. There is no information on new themed challenges, limited-time modes, or additional bonus items. However, previous Overwatch crossovers have often featured event challenges with sprays, icons, or other items unlokcable for free, so chances are that this collaboration will not only come with amazing skins, but also new challenges and free rewards.

With NieR: Automata approaching its ninth anniversary, the timing also feels deliberate. For now, we will have to wait for more official information as March 10 approaches.
