League Of Legends Brings Back Chaos – Return Of The Doom Bots

In a recent developer post, League of Legends announced the return of one of the most beloved and dreaded game modes, Doom Bots. If you’re new to the game or curious about the upcoming changes, you will find this article helpful.

For anyone wondering, this is not just a simple return of the game mode. That would have been quite disappointing, given it’s been 8 years since its last appearance. In February, Riot launched an upgraded version of its AI for the bots. It was designed to help new players through the tutorial. Back then, players were already hoping it was a sign of the game mode’s return. But in the end, it took much longer for it to launch.

However, the longer wait also means the developers had more time to polish the game and implement additional changes.

New Bots Are Coming To The Rift

In their article, Riot revealed that new champions will be introduced as Doom Bots in the upgraded version. While keeping most of the lineup a mystery, they revealed two names: Wukong and Nami.

Aside from his Ultimate, his Q ability will also be enhanced and “bigger.” His E ability (his dash) will also create more clones, based on its rank. Wukong was already a pain to deal with with his normal kit. So keeping him in check in his demon form will be quite a challenge, even for experienced players.

If you thought that Wukong’s kit would prove hard to manage, you’re not ready for Nami’s upgraded version. Her Bubble (Q ability) will now split into 3, and her E ability will now be an AOE. But most of all, her Ultimate will cover a much wider range, so good luck dodging it…

Wukong and Nami won’t be the only Bots coming to the next version of the Doom Bots. Riot is deliberately keeping the player base in the dark to build hype, so stay tuned!

Say Goodbye To Devil Teemo – Veigar Is The New Boss

Back in the first version of the game mode, Teemo, with his iconic Devil skin, was the final boss. However, Riot decided to change the formula a bit.

Veigar will now be the final boss of the game, and Riot also changed the flow of the game itself. Previously, the players had to fight Doom Bots for 15 minutes, after which Teemo would appear. He would then run down mid lane to destroy the Nexus.

Now, the Doom Bots won’t disappear when Veigar spawns at 15 minutes. They will destroy your remaining structures while you desperately struggle to keep your Nexus alive.

New Game Mechanics – Trials Of Doom and Curses

Like the Doom Bots lineup, Riot has not unveiled every Trial yet. But they gave the players some information about one of them.

“Trials” will be a rotating game mechanic that will change during the course of the Doom Bots event. And based on the article, the first one will already be quite a challenge. Every Bot will gain Veigar’s passive. If you’re not familiar with the game, it means that the Bots will gain power every time they hit you with a spell. If you combine that with the fact that Doom Bots fire off a lot of spells with increased accuracy, I only have one thing to say: good luck.

Other Trials will be revealed at a later time.

Curses aren’t new mechanics, but Riot announced that they wanted to improve the system to give players more opportunities to win and turn them into an advantage if you’re creative enough.

Thanks to the experience they gained with the release of the Swarm game mode, Riot also decided to bring Missions to the game mode, giving players two moments in the match to gain power if they can overcome Veigar’s challenges. If you’re familiar with Swarm, it will work similarly to Yuumi’s Quest.

Both veterans and new players are hyped to tackle this game mode and prove to themselves that their skills are better than AI. Are you up for the challenge?
