Lethal Company Version 80 Adds New Creatures and Revamps

Lethal Company Version 80

It’s been a very long time since we’ve heard anything about Lethal Company, the game that once took the world by storm and popularized horror co-op games where proximity chat is a huge element, alternatively known as “friendslop” by some. But recently, Lethal Company just dropped Version 80, bringing new monsters, new features, items, and internal building blocks that will make future updates easier and better.

What’s New in Lethal Company Version 80?

Version 80 brings a lot of new stuff for Lethal company, but Zeekerss has specified that it’s more of a revamp update. This update revamped many of the game’s systems under the hood and fixed numerous small issues. But this means that future updates will be easier to implement and be more content-heavy. Still, Version 80 comes with several overhauls and will have the largest number of new creatures of any update.

But while there are a lot of changes, mainly bug fixes and quality of life updates, here are some of the more noteworthy additions:

  • Three new creatures are coming to the three forest moons (though two of them can be on other moons).
    • Backwater Gunkfish
    • Feiopars
    • Cadaver Bloom
  • The Kidnapper Fox Returns
    • The fox is now more afraid to leave its territory and more accurately determines the size of its territory.
    • The fox cannot spawn at the very beginning of the day.
    • Weeds will never begin growing near the ship, though they can spread to the ship from the place where they started.
    • The Vain Shrouds are rarer than before. However, the weeds will always begin growing on the current moon if you repeatedly “savescum” by disconnecting while not in orbit.
  • Old Birds can now break bridges when walking on them, as well as Forest Keepers.
  • Baboon hawks dropping scrap will now properly drop it on the cruiser
  • Players dropping their items as a result of death, etc., will now properly drop them on the cruiser and mineshaft elevator (and other moving objects)
  • Three new rooms/halls have been added to the factory interior type.
  • The Mineshaft interior now has additional pockets of caves beyond the main cave network, which should make it easier to find scrap.
  • Added the utility slot, which can only be used for (most) non-scrap, shop-purchased items.
    • Shovels are excluded.
  • Crouching or standing still or just walking is now more effective on Forest Keepers when at a distance, and past a certain, far distance, they cannot see you at all.

Will There Be More Updates for Lethal Company?

With the release of Version 80 for Lethal Company, Zeekerss has also stated that Version 85 should hopefully come soon and will be much more “content-focused”. As for when we can expect Version 85, we currently have no idea. But with the sheer number of bug fixes and engine overhauls this update has, perhaps Version 85 won’t be that far off.
