With the August 29 launch getting closer, Lost Soul Aside has just dropped a new trailer! This time, it is all about the weapons! You will have the possibility to pick between a ton of different weapon, and it looks really smooth.
The new video gives us another look at the game’s cool, high-speed combat, with a system that lets you swap between multiple weapons mid-fight, effortlessly and in your own unique way.

Not One, but Four Weapons to Choose From!
You heard it right! You will not just wield a sword, you will have the possibility to swap as you wish between different weapon types. Basically, the sort of dragon-like soul that floats around the main character turns into his weapon, allowing you to switch between the following forms:
- Sword
- Split-second strikes
- Melee combat
- Fast and powerful
- Seems to have some sort of range attack as well
- Can yeet enemies in the air and slash them mid-air
- Greatsword
- Earth-shattering power
- It is big, and it hurts
- Can execute a lot of ground AoE attacks
- Probably a bit slower than the sword
- Poleblade (no, we did not mean Polearm)
- Piercing storm
- Melee and ranged elemental attacks
- Powerfull AoE elemental attacks
- Can also throw in the air and execute mid-air combos
- Scythe
- Cutting-edge control
- Powerful melee combos
- Extremely fast weapon
- Seems to be able to control from a distance as well
Each weapon really has its own identity. The fast-paced fluidity and mid-air combat definitely bring comparisons to Final Fantasy XV, but with more polish, better combos, and more fun!
The best part of it, is the fact that you can really swap between the weapon at any time. And by that we mean, at ANY time. Even mid-air, on the ground, in the middle of a combo. Whenever you wish. This probably opens up the range of combos and actions you can actually do.
Start with the sword to swap mid-air to the Greatsword, smash the enemy down, unleash your elemental attacks with the Poleblade, throw it back in the air, control it with the Scythe, and end it!
The possibilities are endless.
What Is Lost Soul Aside
In case this is the first time you hear about this game, here is a remainder of what it is about.
You play as Kaser, a war orphan who grew up raising his younger sister, Louisa, in a place called Slum Harbour. The two eventually join GLIMMER, a resistance group fighting back against the tyrannical Empire.
However, things escalate fast. The Voidrax, invade from another dimension. One of them, Arena, a dragon-like warrior with a dark past, becomes your ally. It is the dragon-form that you see next to the main character in the trailer, that turns into the weapons. Together, you will face powerful enemies like Aramon, a ruthless commander that wants to drain the planet’s Life Nexus to fuel his vengeance, and his freedom.
Your goal is to rescue your sister from the Voidrax. Be prepared for epic fights, but also an emotional and beautiful story!
