Sony Might Have Just Leaked Marvel’s Wolverine Release Date

Marvel's Wolverine fighting an enemy in close combat

Everyone is currently waiting and hoping for more footage during this week’s upcoming State of Play. And while we do so, it appears that Sony may have accidentally revealed the release window for Marvel’s Wolverine. A recent listing on the Mexican PlayStation Store briefly showed the game as scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

If this is true, it would put the potential launch between July and September. Given that Sony and Insomniac Games previously confirmed a “Fall 2026” release, a September 2026 date is now the most likely target. It would also mirror the successful September launch of the original Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PS4.

Avoiding the Competition

A September release makes sense for another major reason: Grand Theft Auto 6. Rockstar’s next title is currently supposed to release on November 19, 2026, and most publishers are expected to move their schedules to avoid competing directly with it. By launching in September, Sony can give Wolverine its own spotlight well before the holiday rush begins.

What to Expect at State of Play

With the 60-minute State of Play happening this Thursday, February 12, fans are hoping to see the first real gameplay for Wolverine since the cinematic teaser. Although the store listing has since been updated to remove the date, the timing suggests that an official announcement could be right around the corner.
