Capcom has dropped a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, giving us our best look yet at the game’s new Habitat Restoration system. This will be a core feature that links directly into the story, the world, and how you will raise Monsties.

In this new adventure, you play as a Ranger of Azuria, someone whose job is to protect endangered monster species and keep ecosystems in balance. The trailer explains how fragile these habitats have become as invasive monsters start to enter into the wrong territories, interrupt rituals, and threaten local wildlife.
Restoring Life to Azuria
Habitat restoration is not just a side activity, it is part of your duty as a Ranger. The trailer shows several important steps of the process:
- Reclaiming threatened areas from invasive monsters
- Locating ultra-rare endangered species
- Collecting and hatching endangered monster eggs
- Raising young monsters and releasing them back into the wild
- Supporting each species so it can thrive in its natural environment
It is a more peaceful, conservation-focused perspective on the Monster Hunter world, one that is centered on nurturing, understanding, and rebuilding rather than simply hunting.
A cute little Palico also joins the restoration effort, adding a nice touch of teamwork and fun to the mission!
Evolved Monster Raising
Capcom also confirmed that Monster Hunter Stories 3 will introduce:
- Deeper RPG systems
- Evolved monster-raising mechanics
- New elemental mix-and-match combos
- Species rankings tied to your restoration efforts
The more you help a species recover, the more unique Monsties you will be able to discover.
Release Date & Platforms
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection launches March 13, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam) and pre-orders are already open.
With its focus on conservation, exploration, and meaningful monster-raising, Monster Hunter Stories 3 looks like it is bringing a new emotional angle to the series and also still keeping the charm everyone loves.
