Elden Ring: Nightreign has only just released, and it’s already blowing up. Within 30 minutes of launch, the game hit a peak of 255,867 concurrent players on Steam, and that number is still climbing.
This isn’t too surprising considering the hype around the expansion, but it’s still a huge milestone for any game, especially an expansion. The original Elden Ring broke records back in 2022, and Nightreign is clearly keeping that momentum going.
Players have been flooding the servers the moment the DLC went live, with social media filled with screenshots, character builds, and early discoveries. Despite some early complaints about vague patch notes (see our patch 1.01 coverage), the excitement hasn’t slowed down.
A Massive Launch in True FromSoftware Style
FromSoftware is known for huge day-one traffic, and Nightreign is no exception. If the current trend continues, Nightreign could become one of the biggest launches of 2025, at least on Steam.
