Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is set to release on July 31 on Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. However, DotEmu, the game’s publisher, has revealed that the Switch version of the game only supports 30 FPS at launch.

All the other platforms will be able to run the game at a solid 60 FPS, including on Steam Deck. DotEmu has assured that post-launch updates will be shared with the players as soon as possible. However, it is unclear whether the Switch version of the game will run Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound at 60 FPS in the future.

DotEmu also stated that the game will be playable on Switch 2 through backwards compatibility. The publisher cited the handheld console’s superior specs for improved performance. It is also unclear if Switch 2 will be able to support 60 FPS in the game or not.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound Goes Live On July 31

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is a hack-and-slash platformer game developed by The Game Kitchen, the same studio behind the famed Blasphemous games. The game showcases pixel art graphics, which, when paired with modern tweaks to the gameplay, pays homage to the classic Ninja Gaiden universe.

However, the news of the game only being able to support 30 FPS on Switch has raised some eyebrows, considering how much more demanding games are able to run at 60 FPS on Switch, including the Blasphemous games.

DotEmu has promised future updates, so all is not lost. It is possible that we’ll see a future patch that brings 60 FPS for the game on the Switch consoles. But for now, if you’re looking for a solid 60 FPS, it’s better to get the game on any other platform.
