Wuthering Waves has kicked off its latest drip marketing campaign. It teases the arrival of two new 5-star characters in the upcoming 2.7 update. Qiuyuan and Galbrena are on the way, and here’s a breakdown of everything we know about them so far!
Galbrena, Fiend of Ever-burning Flame
Galbrena has been a hot topic ever since her appearance in a 2.6 quest cutscene. From what we’ve seen, she’s on the hunt for Threnodians, some of the most dangerous beings in Wuthering Waves. The scene even hints at a showdown with Carthethyia, a clash fans won’t want to miss.
Leaks suggest Galbrena will be a Fusion main DPS, armed with dual pistols. Early info suggests she dealsboth “Sonata-type damage” and Heavy Attack damage. The actual meaning of “Sonata damage” is still a mystery. That said, her animated drip marketing hints at a fresh twist on Echo damage. She even refers to them as “servants,” hinting at a unique bond or mechanic.
Qiuyuan, the Lone Swordsman
The community is just as excited for Qiuyuan, one of the few 5-star male characters to join the roster. While he hasn’t shown up in-game yet, he did make a striking appearance in a recent trailer.
Calm on the surface, Qiuyuan show just how deadly he can be. His drip marketing suggests his battles end almost instantly.
Qiuyuan is confirmed to be a Sword wielder, but his Attribute is still under wraps. In an earlier article, I noted that he was expected to be Electro. But it appears that Wuthering Waves has since shifted him over to Aero instead. His role, however, seems unchanged. He’s set to serve as a sub-DPS for Augusta, the currently featured character. Most of his damage comes from Heavy Attacks, plus a bit of that mysterious Sonata-type damage
