Marvel Rivals Season 5.5 is almost here, bringing another wave of balance tweaks—and a brand-new hero. Rogue is finally joining the roster as a Vanguard, putting an end to all the community debate and speculation about what role she’d land in.
Rogue Joins Marvel Rivals
Anna Marie is one of the more difficult characters to try to bind down into a limited pool of abilities. Their trademark power is being able to absorb other powers from anyone she touches, so how has Marvel Rivals gone about trying to capture this limitless power in game?
Well, through the recent events of Marvel Rivals lore, Rogue has absorbed the powers from the Chronovium die, now giving her new powers on top of her existing ones. This now enhances her physical prowess and allows her to form small barriers and have all of her punches and kicks infused with the powers of Chronovium. But don’t worry, she still has her deadly absorbing powers, but it’s without a doubt the most complicated and loaded ability in Marvel Rivals. The crazy part is, it’s not even her ultimate ability.
Your Powers are Mine!

One of the biggest takeaways from Rogue’s kit is her ability to absorb the powers of anyone she touches. While fans knew this was coming, it’s still a sight to behold. By grabbing and absorbing an enemy’s powers, she can mimic another character’s ability for a short time.
This includes some very powerful abilities like Loki’s Healing Lamps, Emma Frost’s Diamond Form, and even Dr. Strange’s shield. This means that one ability for every character Rogue can steal, but this becomes a bit problematic depending on the character.
For example, what happens if she absorbs the powers of Mr Fantastic? How would that look on a character model that isn’t meant to be stretchy? Or what about Rocket? His only abilities would be his dash or his respawn beacon? Would she steal Blade’s lifesteal? What about Iron Man, Ultron, or Hawkeye, since they technically don’t have powers?
A Dance for the Ages
Rogue is certainly set up to be one of the most complex characters in Marvel Rivals’ History. With her introduction, that means that every new Hero that releases will have a select ability that she can steal. With that, she will continue to evolve throughout each season, and as the roster grows, so will her potential.
