Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been a big success since its release on April 24, 2025, selling over 1 million copies in just 3 days. This massive start quickly followed with over 2 million copies sold in 12 days! The game, developed by Sandfall Interactive, is praised for its deep story, emotional themes, and stunning world. A lot of players would love to see more of Lumière and the world of Clair Obscur. Here is what we know about the future of the Expedition!

Is the Studio Planning Any DLC or Sequel?

For those hoping for more content, the news isn’t so bright. In a recent interview with the Washington Post, Guillaume Broche, the CEO and creative director of Sandfall Interactive, made it clear that there are no plans for a sequel or DLC. He said:

There is a lot of joy and sincerity in how we made the game, and I think it’s something players can connect with because we have soul in this game, and it’s impossible to reproduce somewhere else without the team here. We are emptied out. There is all of us in the game, nothing left.” Broche said with a tired, satisfied smile.

His statement shows just how much effort and heart the team put into creating the game. The developers worked hard to bring the story to life, and now they are taking a well-deserved break.

No DLC or Sequel, but a Live-Action?

Even though there won’t be more game content, Clair Obscur is not done yet. A live-action film adaptation is already in the works. Sandfall Interactive is teaming up with Story Kitchen to bring the game’s universe to the big screen. This means we can still experience the world of Clair Obscur, but in a different way.

For now, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will stay as it is: an emotional journey that has touched many players. Even without DLC or a sequel, its story will continue to inspire and be remembered.
