If you are a fan of the old school side-scroller beat ’em up games, Tribute Games is back with another gameplay reveal for one of their newest games, Scott Pilgrim EX.
After initially revealing Scott Pilgrim EX over a month ago, we finally got a quick look not only at the combat, but also at character interactions and other gameplay mechanics.
What is Scott Pilgrim EX About?
The plot of the game centers around Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers as they battle in the streets of Toronto once again. However, this time, three rival gangs have taken over the city: The Vegans, The Robots, and The Demons. The identities of the leaders of these gangs remain a mystery that players will need to uncover.
Additionally, Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers are not the only playable characters in the game. The initial reveal trailer confirms that there will be seven playable characters, with the possibility of more being added in the future, similar to what was done in their previous game, Shredder’s Revenge.
Who are Tribute Games?
For those who may not be familiar with Tribute Games, they are the ones behind the massive beat ’em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which was released in 2022. Even before the tremendous success of Shredder’s Revenge, Tribute Games had been developing 2D pixel art games since 2012. Recently, they have gained recognition for their successful interpretations of the 2D side-scroller genre. Given their impressive track record, we can expect Scott Pilgrim EX to be another smash hit.
