Yes, the Snake Eater remake just got its classic intro back!
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is launching on August 28, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To build some hype, Konami released the game’s full opening movie – and yes, the Snake Eater theme is back, once again performed by Cynthia Harrell.
The style feels different this time, but it still hits all the right notes.

What Is Metal Gear Solid Δ?
The new MGS 3 remake, also called ‘Delta’, is a full remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the Cold War origin story of Naked Snake (later known as Big Boss). The story takes place in 1964 and follows Snake on a mission through Soviet territory where he needs to survive harsh jungles, stop a nuclear threat, and face off against his former mentor, The Boss.
The original launched in 2004 and still ranks among the best stealth action games ever made. This new version keeps the story and gameplay structure but upgrades the visuals and controls for modern platforms.

What Changed in the New Intro?
The 2025 version of the Snake Eater intro still features the same unforgettable theme, but this time with a somewhat softer mix. The bass is dialed down, the vocals more subdued, and the overall mood is a bit heavier in emotions.
The visuals now focus on cinematic in-engine footage rather than the surreal animations from the original. You will spot several iconic moments, like Snake’s duel with The Boss, mixed with atmospheric jungle shots and story teases.
Interactive elements are also staying in; during gameplay, you can still use the analog sticks to mess with on-screen snakes during the intro.
