Stellar Blade Addresses Region Lock, DRM Concerns, and Mods!

Stellar Blade is set to launch on June 11, 2025, for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The studio is committed to address community concerns. They want to make sure that players can have the best experience possible on both platforms.

With just a few weeks until launch, they released a statement addressing community concerns surrounding the upcoming PC release of Stellar Blade. The announcement focuses on key issues such as region locking, DRM, and equal access between the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. Here’s everything you need to know!

Region Lock, DRM and Mods

Many players expressed concerns over potential regional restrictions and online connectivity requirements. SHIFT UP confirmed that they are in ongoing discussions with publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment. The goal is to minimize region lock issues. SHIFT UP stated that they are “doing our BEST to resolve most of it as soon as possible.”

On the DRM front, the developers revealed that the system has been fine-tuned. The goal is to make sure stable average frame rates across different regions. Some cases are even showing improved minimum frame counts. This optimization aims to deliver a smoother gameplay experience, regardless of region. Furthermore, mods will be fully supported without any restrictions, offering PC players greater freedom to customize their gameplay experience.

Platform Parity and Optional PSN

Additionally, they reassured players that the PC and PlayStation 5 versions of Stellar Blade will include identical content. This equality extends to future updates, making sure anyone who bought the game early, will not be left behind as new content rolls out. Among the confirmed updates are a new boss fight and additional costumes, both of which will be available on both platforms simultaneously.
