Nintendo released the first trailer for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie a few days ago, and the internet is still going crazy about it! Especially because of Bowser Jr. who gets a whole Spider-Verse-style entrance that nobody expected.

The movie is handled by Illumination again, and based on this first look, they are going even more ambitious than the 2023 Mario Movie.
According to the official Website it should release around April 3rd, 2026.
Returning & New Cast Members
The movie also confirms a mix of returning voices from the first Mario film and some exciting new additions.

- Benny Safdie – Bowser Jr., who appears to be the movie’s main villain this time
Bowser Jr. Enters With… a Spider-Verse Sound Cue?
One of the biggest “WAIT WHAT?” moments is Bowser Jr.’s entrance. He appears with a dramatic close-up and a very specific sound that everyone who saw Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse will recognize instantly: it is Prowler’s theme!
This is still driving the internet crazy, and people are spamming memes saying things like:
- “Bowser Jr. realized he’s the protagonist now.”
- “Why is the Koopa child dropping a multiverse beat???“
- “They gave him the Spider-Verse edit. He’s him.“
It is honestly hilarious, but also fits surprisingly well with the Galaxy theme of bending space and time. Bowser Jr. also looks great here! Expressive, chaotic, but not fully villain-coded. More like a kid playing space pirate.
Mario & Peach Team Up Again – Rosalina Joins the Fun
The trailer also shows Mario and Peach exploring the galaxy together. Peach seems more active this time as well.
However, they probably will not be alone! Rosalina is making her entrance too, absolutely blasting an enemy with her magic, and we can not wait to see what else she has in store!
With a mix of familiar voices, exciting newcomers, and the cool visuals, the Super Mario Galaxy Movie trailer already has us counting down the days until it hits theaters!
