Supermassive Games is taking its Horror Series to the stars. Directive 8020, their first full deep-space entry, now has a release date! It will launch on May 12, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. You can already pre-order it on consoles, but the Steam pre-orders are coming soon. For now, you can at least wish-list it on Steam as well.

Pre-ordering even unlocks the Digital Deluxe Edition for free, giving you early access, bonus missions, outfits, and more.

A Colony Ship Crash and a Deadly Threat

Earth is dying, and humanity’s last hope is the colony ship Cassiopeia. But when it crash-lands on Tau Ceti f, the crew quickly realizes they are not alone.

An alien organism capable of perfectly mimicking its prey begins stalking the corridors, turning the crew’s trust against them. Players will need to rely on stealth, improvised weapons, and lightning reflexes to survive, making every encounter tense and unpredictable. Think “The Thing meets Until Dawn“.

Choices That Actually Matter

Branching storylines are back and bigger than ever. The new Turning Points story tree lets you change the fate of the crew, and possibly humanity itself. Multiple endings, hidden paths, and important decisions mean that one wrong move could end in disaster.

You will have to decide who to save, who to trust, and how to navigate a darkened corridor. Every choice counts.

Supermassive’s Biggest Horror

With a sci-fi setting, paranoid alien threat, and branching storytelling, Directive 8020 is going to be more than just another horror game. Between intense survival moments, moral dilemmas, and a crew that could turn on each other at any second, this could easily become the studio’s most ambitious and terrifying experience yet. Even more than Until Dawn!
