With Hollow Knight: Silksong‘s launch year wrapping up, Team Cherry is giving players a glimpse at what is coming next. From a free expansion for Silksong and a refreshed Hollow Knight edition for Nintendo Switch 2, to PC beta updates and new collectable mini-figurines, there is a lot to be excited about.
With millions of players exploring Hornet’s dangerous world, Team Cherry is doubling down on new content and enhancements that will keep the Hollow Knight universe active in 2026.
Silksong Expansion on the Way
The first big expansion for Hollow Knight: Silksong is already being worked on! Expect new areas, bosses, tools, and more in this underwater adventure. Best of all, it will be free for all players when it launches in 2026.

Team Cherry is keeping most details hidden for now, but they promise to release additional info when we are closer to the release of Silksong: Sea of Sorrow.
Hollow Knight Nintendo Switch 2 Edition
Alongside Silksong, Hollow Knight is getting a new edition for Nintendo Switch 2, incorporating all the updates and enhancements from Silksong:
- High frame-rate modes
- Higher resolutions
- Additional graphical effects
Players who already own Hollow Knight on Switch will be able to upgrade to the new edition for free when it launches in 2026.
Meanwhile, all versions of the original game are being updated across current platforms. PC players can already check out many of the improvements via public-beta branches on Steam and GOG, including 16:10 and ultrawide (21:9) support. More fixes and enhancements will be added before the full release next year.
