Borderlands 4 is full of various side missions, but one in particular is already standing out to players. Hidden in the Carcadia Burns region, this quest does not just hand out XP and loot. It hides a one-time legendary surprise that you do not want to miss! Be careful if you play with friends, they might snatch it right under your nose!
It turns out that the side mission “Vend Of The Line” in the Carcadia Burn region rewards you with a free Legendary weapon of your choice once completed.
How It Works
- Pick up the Vend of the Line side mission located in Carcadia Town. The quest giver is named Penelope Streams
- Unlock Requirements: You need to complete the Main Mission 8: Siege and Destroy first. The side quest only unlocks afterwards.
- At the end of the mission, you will gain access to a vending machine offering several Legendary weapons.
- You can pick one weapon for free, no matter the type you prefer.

Co-op Problems
If you are playing in co-op, be warned! Many players reported that the reward only appears for one player. If your teammate grabs a weapon first, you might not even get to see the selection, so coordinate carefully before anyone interacts with the machine.
We also recommend you do not sell any of your own weapons first to the machine, as it seems to shut down completely after if you do so.
Why It Is Worth Doing
Even if the mission takes a little time to get through, the reward is an easy way to grab a strong early-game Legendary without spending any money or farming bosses.
So, before you blaze past Carcadia Burns, make sure to check out “Vend Of The Line” and secure your free Legendary!
