Tides of Annihilation is looking like it is going to be one of the most beautiful upcoming action games, and its first combat gameplay reveal shows just how ambitious the project really is.
If you did not see it yet, you can take a look at the video here:
Developed and published by Eclipse Glow Games, this fantasy action-adventure takes place in a shattered, modern-day London. You will be sent to a city torn apart by a mysterious invasion from another realm, where reality itself seems to be collapsing.
You step into the role of Gwendolyn, the city’s last surviving inhabitant, as she searches for the Holy Grail in a desperate attempt to save her sister and uncover the truth behind London’s collapse.
A Modern Arthurian Legend

Instead of the usual medieval castles and swords, it uses the Arthurian legends, but inside a modern city that is totally destroyed.
The world mixes skyscrapers, broken bridges, and disfigured landmarks with legendary knights, ancient magic, and supernatural enemies. It creates a world that feels like dark fantasy smashed together with a big Hollywood action movie.
Command Spectral Knights in Real Time
One of the game’s most unique features is its Dual Frontline Battle System.
Instead of fighting alone, Gwendolyn can summon and command spectral knights inspired by the Knights of the Round Table. These spirit warriors fight alongside her in real time:
- Each knight has its own abilities and combat role
- You can equip two sets of knights (up to four total)
- Knights can be swapped mid-combo
- Different knight combinations unlock devastating co-op attacks

In the trailer, Sir Lamorak is showcased as a knight that allows players to control both him and Gwendolyn simultaneously, so this means a sort of hybrid playstyle and synergy.
Dimension-Shifting & Colossal Knight Bosses
The game also literally shifts dimensions. The developers confirmed that some of the game’s surreal sequences were inspired by films like Inception, The Matrix, and even Doctor Strange, with environments folding, warping, rotating, and collapsing as battles continue in real time.
It makes battles feel more like big movie moments than normal, static fights.
On top of that, you also have colossal knight enemies. Each one has its own lore. It looks a bit like fighting summons in the latest Final Fantasy Games (XV, XVI).
