Two Executives Leave MindsEye Studio Just Days Before Launch!

Just one week before the release of MindsEye, two members of the studio behind the game, Build a Rocket Boy, have left the company. With a new trailer being released, and the key executives leaving, what does it mean? Is this a good or a bad news? Here’s everything you need to know!

Who Left and Why

Riley Graebner, the studio’s Chief Legal Officer, announced he left on LinkedIn. He said he was “proud” of what the team achieved during his time at the company and shared that Build a Rocket Boy had doubled in size to more than 450 employees. However, he did not give a reason for leaving.

Alongside him, Paul Bland, the studio’s Chief Financial Officer, has also left the company after two years. While Bland did not post any statement, his LinkedIn profile now shows his time at Build a Rocket Boy ended in June 2025.

This happens just days before MindsEye is launching on June 10, 2025.

Should We Be Worried About Mindseye?

Two top executives leaving a studio so close to release is unusual, and it’s normal that players now wonder what it means for MindsEye. On one hand, these might be personal or planned transitions unrelated to the game’s quality. On the other, it could also mean some kind of trouble behind the scenes, especially given how close we are to launch.

Especially since the news follows recent controversy from co-CEO Mark Gerhard, who suggested that the negative reactions to MindsEye online may have been part of a paid campaign to harm the game’s image. On Discord, Gerhard stated he was “100 percent” convinced that critics were being financed by others.

With only a few days left before MindsEye arrives, both players and critics will be watching closely to see how the game does upon release. We will soon enough see if it lives up to the hype or confirms previous doubts.

On a Good Note

There is still a Silver Lining after all of this: the game will release on June 10, 2025. On top of that, we just received a brand-new trailer that you can watch here:
