Tip #1: Crafting
As you explore the map, you will loot a handful of resources, each with their own unique purpose. For example, you could kill a deer and then gather meat and coarse fur from it. Through the crafting option in the game, you can cook the meat into food that can auto-restore health, and you can use the fur to use as a key material when enhancing your gear.
Be sure to check out the Crafting menu to learn more about all of the different crafting options you have, ranging from foods to potions to bows, and more!
PS: Try to pick up everything you come across in this game. Every item has a purpose!
Tip #2: Enhancing Gear
In Where Winds Meet, there is an option to enhance each gear slot, which progresses with your character level. Within the “Develop” tab, players can select a specific gear slot, and enhance that gear slot by using some coins and specific materials.
These are permanent stat bonuses, and should be prioritized by every player to max out your stats on your character. Below is a quick image that showcases this screen, as well as the stat boost from one quick level increase for the Helmet gear slot!

Tip #3: Sign Posts
You will quickly realize that there are white posts sticking out of the ground in certain locations as you explore the world in Where Winds Meet. These are called “Sign Posts”, and they are messages that are left by other players.
In many cases, if you see a Sign Post then there may be some helpful hints from other players regarding the answer to a nearby puzzle, a treasure chest location, or something else.
Long story short, if you see a Sign Post, make sure you take the time to read it, as it may lead to rewards!
Tip #4: Increase Level Cap
Once you hit a certain level cap in Where Winds Meet, you will need to complete a “Breakthrough” challenge to unlock the next tier of levels. In order to actually participate in these, you must have reached the previous level cap, and in some cases meet the time requirement.
For example, depending on the age of the server, you may need to wait multiple days before anyone can “unlock” the next tier of levels. Be sure to keep an eye on this, and to complete your breakthrough challenges when available to continue to progress your character!
Tip #5: Exchange Shop Dailies & Weeklies
Where Winds Meet has a handful of unique features that are set-up to be daily and/or activities or having weekly stocks for certain shops in-game. By visiting the “Shop” tab, then “Offers” and “Exchange Shop”, you’ll be able to access a handful of vendors to quickly access weekly items.
Some items you will want to make sure you purchase each week are the following:
- Inner Way Note: Chest
- Martial Arts: Custom Tips
- Scholar Giftbox
- Healer Giftbox
- Custom Career Giftbox
- Lingering Melody (allowing you to roll for a chance at a good skin!)
Additionally, many NPCs in the open-world have their own shops that sell useful materials that can be used when enchanting or crafting gear. Be sure to visit those each week as well to stock up on any materials you may need to further boost your stats!
Tip #6: Collecting Oddities
As you explore the world in Where Winds Meet, you will come across a handful of unique items known as an Oddity. These range from colorful butterflies to unique bugs, to even bee hives. If you ever see these types of items, be sure to loot them, as you can exchange them for unique passive boosts that will increase a handful of stats and abilities available to your character!
In order to exchange your oddities for these passives, you need to visit the NPC named, “Qi Sheng”. The image below showcases a world map and where he is located.

Tip #7: Meow Meow Temple
Eventually, you will come across a range of different cats in Where Winds Meet, and many of them will have small riddles or puzzles that need to be solved! By solving these puzzles, you’ll gain some experience and some rewards, including a unique currency that can be used at the “Meow Meow Temple”.
There are a range of helpful items that can be purchased at the Meow Meow Temple, including the following:
- Lingering Melody (x2)
- Oscillating Jade
- Small Box of Commerce Coins
- Dye Powder
- Wiggling Fish
- Hundred Acts Mask
Whenever you see a cat, be sure to interact with it and solve the puzzle to pick up some of this unique currency!
Tip #8: Free Rewards Codes
The global launch of Where Winds Meet introduced a handful redemption codes that players can redeem for useful rewards. To learn more about how to use these codes (and what they are), check out our list of Where Winds Meet Redemption Codes.
Tip #9: Energy Usage
Most activities in Where Winds Meet will require the usage of energy. Energy is a time-limited resource, and you will naturally refill in energy over time, however it can take some time.
There are some consumables that can be used to quickly regain some energy, but it’s highly recommended to not use those until you are closer to the end game, as those will lead to great rewards.
Be sure to use your energy wisely and only on activities that will lead to rewards you need. It’s also a good idea to make sure you aren’t maxed out, as that’s just a waste of energy!
