Naughty Dog is no stranger to ambitious projects. From redefining cinematic action with Uncharted to literally reshaping emotional storytelling with The Last of Us, the studio has consistently pushed gaming forward.
Now, according to Neil Druckmann, their upcoming sci-fi game, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, could be their boldest creation yet, one that might even eclipse the legacy of their most iconic titles.
The Most Expansive Game in Naughty Dog’s History

In a new interview with Variety, Druckmann confirmed that the team is “firing on all cylinders” and described Intergalactic as their biggest and boldest project yet, and even one that could also be the studio’s priciest to date.
He also teased that the game builds on the studio’s trajectory. By this he means that Uncharted introduced blockbuster, character-driven action, The Last of Us added wide-linear design and RPG elements, and now Intergalactic pushes those ideas further and on top adds ambitious sci-fi elements.
A Talented Cast

Hollywood talent is also helping bring the story to life. Tatiana Gabrielle, best known for her role in You, leads the game as Jordan, a character Druckmann believes could become “very iconic and complex in the Naughty Dog tradition.”
She is joined by Tony Dalton, celebrated for Better Call Saul, and voice actor Troy Baker, whose role in Intergalactic remains a mystery for now.
Already Drawing Hollywood Attention
Even before release, Intergalactic has caught the eye of Hollywood studios eager to adapt it. Druckmann acknowledged the interest but pointed out that the priority is clear. The team’s focus is on making a “fantastic video game first.”
Their priority is making sure the game will be amazing, and hit players emotionally as much as The Last of Us did.
What to Expect from Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
Naughty Dog is keeping most details hidden for now, but here is what we know so far, and why this project will be their boldest one yet:
- A Vast Sci-Fi World – Taking the cinematic range of Uncharted and the emotional depth of The Last of Us, and expanding them into a new interstellar universe opens up a ton of possibilities.
- Ambitious Gameplay Evolution – Built on Naughty Dog’s design, mixing wide-linear exploration, RPG systems, and even more ambitious mechanics than before.
- Hollywood-Level Casting – Tatiana Gabrielle as Jordan, Troy Baker in a mystery role, and Tony Dalton bringing extra quality to the cast.
- Game Quality Priority – The team insists their priority is delivering an unforgettable game first.
If history is anything to go by, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet might not just be Naughty Dog’s boldest project, it could be gaming’s next cultural milestone.
