Will the Next God of War Explore Egyptian Mythology

Christopher Judge, the voice of Kratos since God of War (2018), has shared where he would love to see the next game in the series go! And yes, it is straight into Egyptian mythology.

During the MCM London Comic Con, Judge talked about how a possible Egypt setting would be a logical next step for the series, and for himself as Kratos.

Because I became best known as Teal’c from Stargate, to go to Egypt would be a completion of my circle,” as reported via press release to GamesRadar+.

He added, with a grin, that whatever comes next for the series, if there is another game, he is sure it will be great:

But whatever is decided – wait… if there is another game, I have no doubt that, no matter the pantheon, it will be great.”

A Hint at What Is Next for Kratos?

Judge’s comments have reignited fan speculation that Egypt could finally be the next stop for Kratos. The idea of exploring another pantheon has been floating around for years, and Egypt, with its gods, tombs, and desert landscapes, has long been a favorite theory.

Even lore-wise, heading to Egypt could make sense. After the ending of Ragnarök, we could be following an older Atreus headed to Egypt to uncover more about his own journey! He could then be joined by Kratos eventually. But keep in mind that those are only fan theories!

Nothing is confirmed, but it is an interesting timing! Rumors have also pointed to a smaller God of War side story set in Greece, reportedly delayed to 2026, and Cory Barlog (director of 2018’s reboot) is said to be working on a new project at Sony Santa Monica. It is unknown if this is God of War-related, but the hope remains.

Whatever comes next, Judge’s enthusiasm definitely got players hoping that Kratos’ next journey could bring us to the land of Anubis, Ra, and Osiris.
