The Nintendo Switch 2 is launching on June 5, but not everything is going smoothly. While players all over the world are excited to get their hands on the new console, some have received a very bad surprise: their preorders were canceled without any warning or reason.
What Is Happening to Pre-orders
This has been reported all over the world, but seem to target more specifically the UK and the US. In the UK, the game store chain GAME canceled several orders and posted a general apology, but did not give any explanation. In the US, stores like Target and Walmart also canceled some Switch 2 preorders, again, with no clear reason.
These cancellations happened just a few days before release, which is very frustrating. Some people already saw the consoles arriving in stores, but now they might not get theirs on launch day.
Nintendo hasn’t made an official statement yet. However, they had already warned earlier that demand for the Switch 2 would be very high and that not everyone would be able to get one right away.
If you preordered the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s a good idea to check your email or your order status online. Make sure your order is still confirmed. With all the excitement around the new console, it looks like some people may have to wait longer than expected.
