Player choice also carries through opt-in Transmog, modern and Classic visual presets, High-Definition (HD) and Standard-Definition (SD) character-model options, restored Classic animations for HD character models, and official gamepad support for players who prefer to play with a controller. These options are designed to welcome more players into Azeroth while letting you choose the visual style and play setup that feels right for you.

What’s Actually New About Official WoW Controller Support
Controller support isn’t a completely new thing in World of Warcraft. Addons such as ConsolePort have helped players experience WoW on controllers and handhelds for years.
However, truly official tool support is always a good thing because, at best, it considers the rest of WoW’s official gameplay experience, such as the UI as a whole or accessibility options, without the need of addon developers combing through official API changes.
The only caveat, as far as we know, is that controller support has only been officially announced for Warcraft Forever – so we hope to have this excellent feature available across all WoW game modes!
