WoW: Forever’s world is stunning. From new zones, to new lighting and fog features, the updated version of old Azeroth is a marvel to behold. But how does it compare to the original Classic maps?
Images posted by @MrGM on X show that the flat and untextured areas of the Classic maps have been updated to include the new and improved areas of the post-Cataclysm world.
Areas that once simply faded into the background in Classic now have much more detail. But rather than completely rebuilding these areas from scratch, Blizzard seems to have been able to use assets and sections of Modern WoW’s maps to give the world a much more complete appearance.
