Introduction

In this section you will find information pertaining to each boss individually. It is recommended you follow the standard talent build found in the Builds, Talents, and Glyphs section of the guide unless otherwise advised on a per boss basis. Much of the information is geared towards Mythic encounters, though it can be applied equally to the lesser difficulties.

Norgannon's Prowess Icon Norgannon's Prowess should be substituted for Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision if you have not obtained it yet.

1. Antorus, the Burning Throne

1.1. Garothi Worldbreaker

Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind is an invaluable choice for quickly getting in and out of the group stack and quickly reaching Annihilation Icon Annihilation soaks.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.2. Felhounds of Sargeras

Use your Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind to reposition and avoid detrimental mechanics such as the Consuming Sphere Icon Consuming Sphere. Keep Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock applied to both targets.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.3. Antoran High Command

Use the adds as fuel for your single target if it is a progression kill. If your goal is overall DPS, you can instead spend all your Maelstrom on Earthquake Icon Earthquake when the adds are up for maximum damage. Earthgrab Totem Icon Earthgrab Totem is the preferred totem on this encounter, as it is available once every thirty seconds, allowing us to trigger our Sephuz's Secret Icon Sephuz's Secret proc on cooldown. You can place it before the adds appear so that no global cooldowns are wasted once cleave is possible.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: Al'Akir's Acrimony Icon Al'Akir's Acrimony & Sephuz's Secret Icon Sephuz's Secret.

Talent Choice:

1.4. Eonar the Life-Binder

Place your Earthgrab Totem Icon Earthgrab Totem before the add waves spawn to instantly trigger your Sephuz's Secret Icon Sephuz's Secret. Focus on your AoE and cleave, but ensure you have some damage ready when your Paraxis group is up (Mythic only).

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: Al'Akir's Acrimony Icon Al'Akir's Acrimony & Sephuz's Secret Icon Sephuz's Secret.

Talent Choice:

1.5. Portal Keeper Hasabel

Elemental should stay on the main platform, as they offer some of the strongest cleave and boss damage available on this encounter. While the Transport Portal Icon Transport Portal is open, focus all your Maelstrom into your Earthquake Icon Earthquake. If add damage is very high already, use the Maelstrom from Chain Lightning Icon Chain Lightning to instead fuel your single target.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: Al'Akir's Acrimony Icon Al'Akir's Acrimony & Sephuz's Secret Icon Sephuz's Secret.

Talent Choice:

1.6. Imonar the Soulhunter

This is a purely single target boss. Survival is the main priority here, particularly on the higher difficulties. Keep careful watch on the raid cooldowns being used and be sure to cycle your personals and use your Healthstone if things start to destabilize during the intermissions.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.7. Kin'garoth

Position your camera so you can easily spot incoming Diabolic Bomb Icon Diabolic Bombs. Ensure you have all your damage ready for the Down Phases, as the constructs take bonus damage that decays over time; the implication being that they take the most damage immediately as the Down Phase begins. Icefury Icon Icefury is typically the best and most consistent choice here, as movement is very high, especially on Mythic, however Ascendance Icon Ascendance can yield competitive or higher numbers if played perfectly combined with very good luck.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.8. Varimathras

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.9. The Coven of Shivarra

Keep Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock on both targets at all times. The Earthgrab Totem Icon Earthgrab Totem can be valuable here, depending on how your raid likes to deal with the Spectral Army of Norgannon Icon Spectral Army of Norgannon. If your tanks keep the bosses under 20 yards apart, you will be able to use Chain Lightning Icon Chain Lightning, however this is unlikely for most groups. For early Mythic kills, save your DPS cooldowns for the add waves in order to quickly eliminate them, as they represent the highest threat to your group.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.10. Aggramar

Due to the amount of movement, particularly on Mythic difficulty, we recommend using Icefury Icon Icefury on this encounter for maximum efficacy. Apply Flame Shock Icon Flame Shocks to both Flame of Taeshalach adds during the intermission phases.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

1.11. Argus the Unmaker

We prefer the Strength of the Sky Icon Strength of the Sky buff, especially if you are playing with Ascendance Icon Ascendance. Icefury Icon Icefury is a viable option if you are struggling with movement here, however we feel that Ascendance offers more potential with the amount of damage steroids available on this encounter. On Heroic and other lesser difficulties, Ascendance also allows for massive burst during the Constellar Designates phase of the encounter.

Trinket Choice: Aman'Thul's Vision Icon Aman'Thul's Vision & Acrid Catalyst Injector Icon Acrid Catalyst Injector.

Legendary Choice: The Deceiver's Blood Pact Icon The Deceiver's Blood Pact & Smoldering Heart Icon Smoldering Heart.

Talent Choice:

2. Trial of Valor

2.1. Odyn

2.2. Guarm

2.3. Helya

3. Emerald Nightmare

3.1. Nythendra

Nythendra is fairly straightforward fight. The timers for Rot Icon Rot are very consistent and predictable, which you should use to your advantage. Play in anticipation of receiving the debuff; plan your globals so you do not interrupt an important damage dump as Rot Icon Rot is being applied. Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind is recommended on this boss, as there is little group movement. Infested Breath Icon Infested Breath is also very predictable. Try and be fairly close to the boss when this ability draws near, as it is a conic effect. The further you are from the boss, the further you will have to laterally move to escape the range of the breath. If you get Rot Icon Rot as the Infested Breath Icon Infested Breath approaches, you should save Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind for after you have dropped your Rot Icon Rot, as the Infested Breath Icon Infested Breath might target you. You can then use Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind to escape mortal danger.

Having Icon Stormkeeper available for Infested Mind Icon Infested Mind can be helpful for quickly bursting down the mind controlled players with Chain Lightning Icon Chain Lightning.

Good positioning is key for Heart of the Swarm Icon Heart of the Swarm to ensure minimal movement, damage intake, and Infested Icon Infested stacks.

3.2. Ursoc

Optimizing on Ursoc mainly comes down to ensuring your movement and positioning is immaculate. Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind can be very helpful for quickly snap positioning or getting back in after ability Focused Gaze Icon Focused Gaze. Make sure you are ahead of the group's movement for every Roaring Cacophony Icon Roaring Cacophony; you want to be in range to soak the ability, but far enough you only have to take little or no steps to escape the Miasma Icon Miasma. Plan your burst windows in such a fashion that they are not interrupted by a Focused Gaze Icon Focused Gaze or the Barreling Impact Icon Barreling Impact that comes after. Pre-position for the next Roaring Cacophony Icon Roaring Cacophony if you are debuffed with Momentum Icon Momentum. This helps ensure your damage is not interrupted by having to dodge the charge and saves overall movement.

3.3. Elerethe Renferal

Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem is pretty essential on this encounter unless there are already enough movement speed cooldowns to cover each Feeding Time Icon Feeding Time in addition to the platform change from Dark Storm Icon Dark Storm and the push back from Gathering Clouds Icon Gathering Clouds. The little spiders cannot be stunned, so do not bother wasting a Lightning Surge Totem Icon Lightning Surge Totem on them.

This is a primarily single target fight with little mechanical intensity, so you can generally focus on just doing your rotation correctly.

3.4. Dragons of Nightmare

On Heroic difficulty and lower, you can stand between the dragons (at maximum range from both) and avoid being afflicted with either of their debuffs. This allows you to easily maintain 100% uptime on your Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock on both targets. Be sure to soak any Nightmare Bloom Icon Nightmare Bloom you may spawn.

Maintaining Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock is also possible on Mythic difficulty, though it requires greater poise, as the range of the boss debuffs are increased from 40 yards to 60 yards. You will have to pay careful attention to the debuff timers to avoid getting slept by the boss. When the debuffs are not going out you can dash over and quickly reapply your Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock before returning to your side of the room. In order to correctly pull this off in Mythic difficulty, you also have to have a good presence of mind for what "60 yards" from the boss is. Cast range from the boss is about 50 yards on this boss, as "max range" for casters is 40 yards to the edge of the melee hitbox, whereas the debuff range is 60 yards from the boss' centre. This means you do not have to move a full 20 yards back and forth every time you need to reapply, but you do need to build an instinctual reference for your safety net.

Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind is generally preferred on this encounter unless you are part of the Nightmare group (Mythic only). Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem will be a superior choice if you are entering the portals as it will speed your entire squad to your destination portal.

3.5. Il'gynoth, Heart of Corruption

This is a very flexible fight overall, and talents can be rearranged as necessary to compensate for whatever you feel is lacking in your raid composition. Nightmare Ichor is rarely an issue on this fight, so you will want to focus more on cleaving down the priority targets.

Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem is recommended for this fight on Mythic difficulty, as it is invaluable in the heart room to avoid the silencing puddles on the ground (and allow players to quickly spread with debuffs).

Ascendance Icon Ascendance is a better option for Normal/Heroic as the heart can be killed in a single phase.

3.6. Cenarius

This is a very high movement encounter, particularly on Mythic difficulty, so cerebral positioning is key. Pay careful attention to Nightmare Brambles Icon Nightmare Brambles at all times, as getting rooted can easily be a fatal mistake. Always try and position in a central location between the boss and the forces of Nightmare to allow continued maintenance of Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock on the boss. Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind cannot go over Nightmare Brambles Icon Nightmare Brambles, but it can be useful to reposition throughout the encounter. Wind Rush Totem Icon Wind Rush Totem is a good option if your group lacks speed increases such as Stampeding Roar Icon Stampeding Roar.

3.7. Xavius

Xavius is a very straightforward fight on all difficulties. Your focus should be primarily centered around dumpstering adds in the first two phases. Mobility is not much of an issue on this boss, so feel free to use Gust of Wind Icon Gust of Wind for increased personal utility. In the final phase you can roll Flame Shock Icon Flame Shock on several of the tentacles for free damage and resets. Have your cooldowns ready for Corruption: Descent into Madness Icon Corruption: Descent into Madness to get a final burst of damage out before you are mind controlled. You are safe to hit 100% Corruption while in the dream as when Corruption: Descent into Madness Icon Corruption: Descent into Madness ends you will lose the dream buff rather than being fully mind controlled. Ascendance Icon Ascendance is absolutely gorgeous if you correctly abuse this debuff, while Lightning Rod Icon Lightning Rod will outperform it if you set it up incorrectly. It is ultimately your choice though I personally give Ascendance Icon Ascendance the edge on Mythic difficulty. Lightning Surge Totem Icon Lightning Surge Totem is actually quite useful for dealing with the Inconceivable Horrors.
