1. Optimization between Light/Shadow Tier 2 and Relic Tier 3 Choices for Feral Druids

Netherlight Crucible

Optimizing the Netherlight Crucible for Feral is a careful balance between weighing up the power of strong Relics on the third tier, and the power of the Light/Shadow traits in the second, due to how strong many of the Relic choices are that can dictate your decision. Due to that, it will depend on the choices the Crucible gives you as to the path you take, rather than a universal rule.

For each of the Tier 2 and Tier 3 options on the Crucible then, I have added a value next to each choice that has been calculated through SimulationCraft, based on the equivalent Item Level value each trait is. To work out your best choice with the options, simply take the values of the Tier 2 and tier 3 options you have, combine them and select the highest possible combination.

Note all of these are calculated using the ideal build from the talent page, in particular including both Incarnation: King of the Jungle Icon Incarnation: King of the Jungle and Moment of Clarity Icon Moment of Clarity.

2. Tier 2 Priorities for Feral Druids

The Light/Shadow traits on Tier 2 present some very high value options, alongside some quite weak choices. Remember the choice you make here dictates the Relic traits you have access to, so plan your path accordingly.

2.1. Best

2.2. Good

2.3. Average

2.4. Weak

Note that anything with defensive added next to it has additional benefit from through the defensive bonuses they also grant. This has no value for dealing damage, but some players may want to focus on this depending on the content they participate in.

3. Tier 3 Priorities for Feral Druids

Ideally, you should attempt to take the best Tier 2 trait to lead to the highest value Tier 3 trait. However, if you find that the Tier 2 option would outvalue any of the Tier 3 options available to you, then deciding instead based on the Light/Shadow choice is optimal. Note that these values are much more specific than those on the Relic page, as they have been done at a much more specific gear level to allow for more focus. These may be different on specific characters, but these are a good general outline (note these are simmed with the Tier 21 bonuses, which can alter some values):

  1. Icon Feral Instinct - 3.9
  2. Icon Feral Power - 3.5
  3. Icon Razor Fangs - 3.5
  4. Icon Tear the Flesh - 3.3
  5. Icon Ashamane's Energy - 1.9
  6. Icon Powerful Bite - 1.2
  7. Icon Sharpened Claws - 0/With Brutal Slash Icon Brutal Slash - 3.3/AoE focused - 6.2
  8. Thrashing Claws Icon Thrashing Claws - 0/AoE focused - 5/with Luffas - 8

The traits not listed here ( Icon Attuned to Nature, Icon Honed Instincts) are very low value traits that are defensively oriented and provide little to no benefit, and should be avoided wherever possible.
