The launch of Ashes of Creation’s Alpha Two Phase Three comes with a large number of changes, but one of the most noticeable changes coming to the game will be visible by every player within the first minute of playing. That’s right – there are two new playable races coming to the game that you’ll be able to select from as you create your character on August 4, 2025!
The two new races being added to Ashes of Creation are the Py’Rai and the Niküa. Take a closer look at each of these races below, including their background, visual appearance, lore, and more.

Overview of the Py’Rai Race
The Py’Rai race are known to be the “Masters of the Hidden Realm”, and are visually very similar to what Wood Elves appear as in other games. This race has perfected the art of living in harmony with their environment while remaining virtually invisible to outsiders.
Their villages, constructed from lovingly carved wood and natural fieldstone, blend so seamlessly with the landscape that travelers might pass directly through their settlements without ever realizing they’ve entered a thriving community. This architectural mastery reflects their deeper philosophy: true strength comes not from dominating nature, but from becoming one with it.
If you are a nature lover, and enjoy being one with the natural world around you, then the Py’Rai race might be the best decision for you!
Overview of the Niküa Race
The Niküa, whose name literally means “The Dreamers”, represent one of Verra’s most fascinating cultural evolutions. Visually, they are very similar to the existing Dünir race that’s within the game, but with a twist.
Originally part of the great Dünzen dwarvish migration, the Niküa ventured further south to discover a coastal mountain range that forever changed their destiny. This race is known for being experts in the mines, and are typically very skilled in a wide range of professions and crafting.
If you are interested in playing as a short, dwarf-like character and love crafting, then the Niküa race might be for you!
Which Race is Next?
After these two races are launched, the next one in line for implementation will be the Ren’Kai race. This race will not be ready for the launch of Phase Three but will be coming soon! This race carries the burden of their ancestor’ ambitions and the wisdom born from choosing a different path.

How to Start Playing Ashes of Creation
If you’re interested in playing Ashes of Creation, then create an account here and visit the “shop” section of the Ashes of Creation website to purchase your key. Upon purchase, you will receive access to play the rest of Alpha Two, along with a key for Beta One and Beta Two.
