<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Freely Swap Gems and Runes</h2>



<p>One of the most important quality-of-life updates is the ability to freely swap Gems and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/runewords-guide/">Runes</a> without visiting the Jeweler. This will allow you to quickly change your gear without the hassle of traveling to town. Plus, unsocketing no longer costs gold!</p>



<p><strong>How it works</strong>:</p>



<ul>
<li>If you socket a Gem into an item with 2 slots and both are full, the bottom Gem will be automatically removed, with the new Gem placed on top.</li>



<li>Trying to socket a Gem into an item containing Runes will remove the Runes, and vice versa, inserting Runes into an item with Gems will remove the Gems.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A New &#8220;Grand&#8221; Tier of Gems</h2>



<p>A new Gem tier called &#8220;Grand&#8221; is being introduced, providing a 50% power boost over the previous &#8220;Royal&#8221; tier. Crafting these gems requires a hefty 100,000 Gem Fragments, 30 <span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Materials_15.webp" alt="Forgotten Soul"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Crafting Material" data-item-quality="legendary">Forgotten Soul</span></a></span>s, and 10,000,000 gold.</p>

<p>You now gain access to the Jeweler at Level 1, making it easier to craft and manage gems early in the game. Chipped Gems can be crafted from Level 1, while Gem Fragments start dropping from level 5. <li><strong>Lord Zir</strong>: The new summoning cost is 12<span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Quest_MiscTrinkets_6.webp" alt="Exquisite Blood"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Summoning" data-item-quality="normal">Exquisite Blood</span></a></span>, up from 9.</li>

Summoning Material Reduction for Endgame Bosses in Vessel of Hatred


<p>Check out the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/masterworking-guide/">Masterworking</a> changes coming in the Vessel of Hatred expansion!</p>



<p>In addition to other game systems, Blizzard made the following changes to Masterworking in Vessel of Hatred:</p>



<ul>
<li>The gold cost for Masterworking Ranks 5-12 has been reduced by 1/3.</li>



<li>Masterworking mats will now drop from more sources inside <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/nightmare-dungeon-guide/">Nightmare Dungeons</a>, including Resplendent Chests, Normal Chests, Miscellaneous Interactive objectives (like ambient corpses), Breakables, The Butcher, Treasure Goblins, and Local Events.</li>



<li>Furthermore, Non-Ancestral Legendary items can now be Masterworked up to 8 times and have 2 Tempering Affixes. Material costs for Masterworking at lower ranks have been adjusted.</li>



<li>In <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/infernal-hordes-guide/">Infernal Hordes</a>, both the Chest of Materials and Chest of Gold will consume all remaining Aether rewarding Gold or crafting materials (including Masterworking materials) the more Aether is spent on the chest.</li>

<p>Blizzard decided to sunset a couple of <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/runewords-guide/">Runewords</a> based on 2.0 PTR testing, ahead of Vessel of Hatred&#8217;s global launch, and make changes to existing ones. Let&#8217;s take a look!</p>



<p>Many runes were more too powerful and only gave multiplicative damage, some had no usage and din&#8217;t have good long-term potential.</p>

<p>All runes should be competitive and have a potential home in a build, according to the devs.</p>



<p>Additionally, they&#8217;ve increased the offering on <span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Runes_V2_14.webp" alt="Ohm"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Rune of Invocation" data-item-quality="legendary">Ohm</span></a></span> (Warcry) to 600. Crit Damage bonuse moved to the Prime choice. Baseline petrify now grants 100 resource when used. This means the Yom runewords will Stun enemies ad give a large amount of resource.</p>

<p>Blizzard buffed certain Runes of Offering so they will proc more often.</p>

Last-Minute Runeword Changes and Removals Ahead of Vessel of Hatred Launch


<p>With a whole giant expansion dropping, it&#8217;s easy to overlook some standard seasonal activity. But the Season of Hatred Rising is bringing some impressive stuff to bear, and among it is a pretty great Battle Pass! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Free Track</h2>



<p>First off, a reminder that you do not need Vessel of Hatred to play Season 6. All the seasonal activities and almost all the rewards can be played for free with the base game. And so let&#8217;s take a look at what everyone will be getting without the paid Battle Pass. </p>



<p>Players will be able to earn the Seething Vengeance title, as well as an armor set and 5 weapon cosmetics:</p>

Impressive Diablo 4 Season 6 Battle Pass Mounts, Trophies, Armor Sets and More Revealed


<p>The wave-based <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/infernal-hordes-guide/">Infernal Hordes</a> endgame activity was introduced with Season 5 and it was a big hit! Players flocked to it and it soon became the only place to get some really great rewards, completely overshadowing the Pit. Blizzard are making some drastic changes to the activity in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/vessel-of-hatred-overview/">Season 6</a> and Vessel of Hatred, so let&#8217;s take a look. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Infernal Compass Changes</h2>

<p>Compasses can no longer be crafted and will only appear in Torment difficulties. You&#8217;ll need to be level 60 and clear various Pit level requirements to access the 4 Torment difficulties, starting with 20 for T1. The new Compasses are rare drops from the 4 hardest difficulties in the game. They are meant to be more rewarding but not quite so frequent, since they&#8217;re no longer the core activity of the season. So, no more inventory spam! </p>



<p>The difficulty of the activity is now purely based on the difficulty you&#8217;re playing on as well. Revives have also been revised and are now permanently set to 4 for all Infernal Hordes runs. Meanwhile, the number of waves of a horde will be randomly determined on each Compass drop. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Less Chest Headaches and Better Loot</h2>



<p>The end-of-run chests have undergone significant changes, with some of them even being removed! The Equipment and Item chests are no more, as they were no longer necessary. The tedium of some of the chests has also been removed, as Materials chests now also consume all Aether, just like the Gold ones, granting greater rewards the more Aether is put in. </p>



<p>Greater Chest of Equipment is now much more expensive, costing 200 Aether (from 60). However, it will also be much more rewarding! It has a guaranteed Ancestral Legendary! And don&#8217;t forget, the new Ancestrals always have one guaranteed Greater Affix and are always maximum item level (800). </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Important Loot</h2>

<p>One of the key items added to the loot list for Infernal Hordes is the new Scroll of Restoration. It replenishes an item&#8217;s Tempering charges. Another change to the loot system is that the Council now drops guaranteed Legendary items with Infernal Hordes affixes.</p>
