It’s been nearly three months since patch 7.4 dropped, and a new update for FFXIV is looming on the horizon. This Friday will see a new Letter from the Producer livestream covering some of the new features arriving in 7.5. But what will the new patch bring? Here are some possibilities of what we might see tomorrow.
Upcoming Content
The new patch will certainly bring new MSQ quests, along with a dungeon, trial, and an Extreme variant of the latter. With the main story of Dawntrail more or less wrapped up, the game will start to hint at what the plot for 8.0 will look like. Will we see more of Halmarut, who appeared at the end of 7.4’s story? Only time will tell.

As with other X.5 patches, players can expect to see the final duty of the Echoes of Vana’diel Alliance Raid. Expect to visit more locales from FFXI, and some of the game’s iconic bosses. Gear drops from this tier will be about 15 levels (775) behind the current BiS cap (790). Not terrible, but don’t expect to throw yourself into the next Ultimate with that.
Speaking of which, while it hasn’t been explicitly confirmed, CBU3 mentioned last year they were looking for testers for the next Ultimate Raid, so one is more than likely to arrive in 7.5. High-end raiders might expect a first look at the fight, if not in this live letter, then the next one. Dawntrail threw players for a loop by skipping over Stormblood to give us Futures Rewritten. Will we be returning to the Stormblood MSQ for the next Ultimate, or will it be something else entirely?
Unconfirmed Content
Other content promised with Dawntrail may appear in 7.5, or it may not be until 7.55 until we see this. But one of the big additions players are looking for is Beastmaster. Teased as arriving in late 7.5X, Beast master is a limited job in the same vein as Blue Mage. The job will likely function similar to BLU, but instead of spells you’ll be collecting NPC enemies.
With all the Allied Society factions released, we might also see a capstone quest to tie everything together. There are also potential updates for Cosmic Exploration, the Occult Crescent, and Phantom Weapons. Then again, all of these may land in 7.55 or even 7.58 to tide players over until the release of 8.0.

Potential Release Date
Typically patches drop a little more than a month after the Letter from the Producer livestreams. However, April will also see the North American Fanfest event take place in Anaheim, California. Patch releases following events are typically delayed by 8-10 days. With Fanfest taking place on the weekend of April 24th, the most likely date for 7.5 is Tuesday, May 5th.
Where and When to Watch
The Letter from the Producer will take place on Friday March 13th at 4:00 AM PST. You can view it on a few different platforms:
