If you’re unfamiliar with Final Fantasy XIV‘s Deep Dungeons, the Patch 7.3 Live Letter covered the basics of the content. You can also review our Deep Dungeon guide on Icy Veins for more information!

In Patch 7.35, the latest Deep Dungeon addition is Pilgrim’s Traverse! This content is expected to release sometime in October 2025. If you’re interested, you can watch a gameplay preview via the Live Letter.

This Deep Dungeon is located in Il Mheg, and all Warriors of Light are invited to experience the new content. Whether you’re a casual player, or someone who enjoys a difficult challenge, there’s surely something for everyone!

How to Unlock Pilgrim’s Traverse

To enter Pilgrim’s Traverse, whether solo or as a party, all Warriors of Light need to:

  • Clear Floor 50 of the Palace of the Dead
  • Complete the main scenario quest Endwalker

Pilgrim’s Traverse features 100 floors, divided into sections of 10 floors each. As with all Deep Dungeons, you’ll need to defeat a unique boss every 10 floors, with the final boss enemy at Floor 99. If you’re only interested in completing the Deep Dungeon story quests, you only need to progress up to Floor 30.

In previous Deep Dungeons, players could queue with both matched and fixed parties up to Floor 30. And for Floors 31 and above, you needed to queue with fixed parties only.

In Pilgrim’s Traverse, all Floors are accessible by matched parties, from Floors 1 to 100! If this feature works out well, older Deep Dungeons may get updated with this new queuing system.

You can also obtain rewards from your weekly challenge log.

New Deep Dungeon Features in Pilgrim’s Traverse

In older Deep Dungeons, if you experienced a Party KO, you needed to restart from Floors 1 or 21. This effectively reset your entire progress.

For Pilgrim’s Traverse, checkpoints are available at Floors 31, 51, and 71! So if you mess up, you won’t lose too much progress. 😅 If you’re a solo Deep Dungeon player, you can still get your achievement by starting from Floor 1! 🏆

Similar to other Deep Dungeons, Pilgrim’s Traverse continues to feature Pomanders and Treasure Coffers:

Unique to Pilgrim’s Traverse are the Votives and Juniper Incense you may encounter on a map. These can provide various effects in combat, seen below:

For more information on why the Juniper Incense is named that way, check it out in Patch 7.35!

Another new feature is related to the Floor 99 Boss. This boss is a standard across all Deep Dungeons, but with the checkpoint feature, players can retry the boss starting from Floor 71.

Challenge Floor 99 Boss via The Final Verse

In addition, after you reach Floor 99, you can also directly challenge the boss whenever you want via The Final Verse. This new feature is accessible anytime, and valuable rewards may drop upon completion!

There is also The Final Verse (Quantum), which can be challenged by a party of 4 (Party Finder enabled). You can only access this duty after completing a quest requiring completion of Pilgrim’s Traverse at Floor 100. See below for how to unlock this duty:

The quest will reward “offerings” which are used for challenging The Final Verse (Quantum):

The more offerings you submit when entering, the more the Boss’s stats will increase. In addition, boss mechanics also change depending on how many offerings are submitted. The Final Verse (Quantum) sure has a lot of customizable options!

Deep Dungeon Pilgrim’s Traverse Rewards

As with every Deep Dungeon, Pilgrim’s Traverse features new weapons, which can be enhanced by collecting upgrades through treasure coffers. But watch out, they may contain traps or mimics instead!

You can also obtain new mounts, such as a… Forgiven Cage? As well as… a chandelier? Is that a forgiven Sin Beaver minion as well?!

Deep Dungeons always feature some interesting rewards, so better grab some friends to enjoy it together!
