Love & Deepspace Still Untouchable But Zenless Zone Zero Stole the Show

December is done, the new year is here, and of course, the gacha revenue charts have dropped! Some old favorites are still holding their ground, but a few games moved up and shook things up a little.

Top Ranking Games

At the top, we have Love and Deepspace with a high income of $82.5M, and that is more than double November’s income. Honestly, it feels like nothing is going to knock this one off its throne anytime soon. Even when it drops from first, the game clearly has a solid, spendy player base that keeps coming back for more.

Genshin Impact is back in second ($40.8M), probably due to the hype from the new zone, story, and recent content, and the long-awaited Durin banner. A lot of players come back for the latest patch and then leave again until the next big one drops.

But the real headline is Zenless Zone Zero jumping 10 spots to rank 4 in December. That spike most likely comes from the Void Hunter, since she dropped at the end of December. Tons of players were clearly waiting for her before opening their wallets.

Not Everyone Had a Good Month

Some other big games did not do quite as well. Honkai: Star Rail ($27.9M) and Uma Musume: Pretty Derby ($21.2M) slipped a bit from November, and that goes to show any gacha can lose ground when the hype moves elsewhere. Meanwhile, Fate/Grand Order and Wuthering Waves are climbing a little bit back up as well.

Even games like Pokémon TCG Pocket dropped just under $36M, proving that even global top games are not immune to month-to-month changes.

So, December was pretty much what you would expect, with a huge rise in revenue when a hot new banner hit, and a few minor dips when players decide that they need a bit of change and go for other games here and there. For gacha players, these trends are a solid hint of where wallets (and hype) might go next, especially with some big January banners probably just around the corner.
