A new major leak has revealed more about HoYoverse’s plans for the upcoming User Generated Content (UGC) feature in Genshin Impact, codenamed “Thousand Stars” or “Miliastra.” If accurate, this will be one of the most exciting additions to the game so far, turning Teyvat into a playground for players.

You can take a look at the latest leak that was shared on Reddit here:

What Is the Upcoming UGC Mode About?

According to the latest leakers, Miliastra will function as a standalone sandbox mode, separate from the main Genshin game, but sharing the same in-game assets. This way it should not require much extra storage space, keeping it accessible for most of us.

The mode is designed to let you create and share your own characters, worlds, and challenges. This means that you will have the possibility to do much more, and be way more creative! If you already enjoy the existing Serenitea Pot housing system, this UGC mode will be perfect for you. Teyvat will truly be your home!

Main Features We Currently Know About

The following content should be available in the UGC mode. Of course, keep in mind that everything mentioned here is still only leaked content, and can change upon release! That said, you should be able to access the following features, and much more:

  • Custom Characters
    • You can design your own avatars with detailed options for clothing, skin tone, facial features, and more.
    • Beta tests currently allow only female avatars, with male models planned for full release.
  • Creative Worlds
    • Build puzzle maps, combat arenas, or full role-play environments using in-game assets.
  • Social Lobbies
    • You will find public lobbies for up to 20 players or private lobbies for 12 players where you can create and play together.
  • Player-Made Challenges
    • From parkour obstacle courses to story quests, you can design, test, and publish your creations for others to enjoy.
    • You can play through other player’s content.
  • Ratings & Leaderboards
    • Creations will show all the completion stats, and will be ranked. The best ideas will definitely stand out!
    • It is unknown if creations are automatically submitted to rankings, or if you can toggle that on and off on each of your creation.

Economy & Monetization

Miliastra will also introduce its own:

  • Cosmetic Gacha System
    • The UGC mode will have its own Gacha system, but this time focused on outfits and accessories rather than playable characters.
    • If you are playing Infinity Nikki, you can expect something similar to the clothing Gacha.
  • Separate Battle Pass
    • The mode will also have an exclusive Battle Pass.
    • Expect the same price as the usual Genshin Impact Battle Pass.
  • Unique Currency & Stamina System
    • Miliastra will also have a unique Currency
    • Expect a Stamina system as well, similar to Resin but with a larger cap to support longer play sessions.

The overall UGC mode has received a lot of positive comments from the community, but the monetization aspect does raise a lot of concerns. Players are afraid that some cosmetics may be Primogem-exclusive, or some content ending up locked behind paywalls.

Lore Connections

Early images show a lobby inspired by Simulanka. This was the zone from Genshin’s 4.8 summer event. There are also a few hints that tie the UGC with Alice, Klee‘s mother. This means it could be explained as a “creative dimension” within Teyvat.

With Alice being announced as a playable character for 6.x, it would actually fit if the UGC comes out around the same time.

One thing is sure, the mode is reportedly in its final development stage, so you can expect more details soon! Keep an eye on our news, we will make sure to update you as soon as possible!
