Substat Priority
  1. Energy Recharge to ~140
  2. CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
  3. ATK %
  4. Elemental Mastery (Only in Reaction Teams)
Talent Priority
  1. Normal Attack
  2. Elemental Skill
  3. Elemental Burst

When building Klee if you have The Widsith at R5, it is better than Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds. If not, then we recommend Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds instead. The movement speed buff also highly benefits Klee since she can be a bit clunky to play, especially if you don't cancel her long animations. Klee can not always take advantage of the Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds's Elemental DMG bonus depending on the team you play.

Klee's best artifact set changes heavily depending on her team composition:

  • Marechaussee Hunter is best if Klee is being played with Furina and is better than other build options. However, it does tie you to using Furina.
  • 2-piece Crimson Witch of Flames and ATK % is a great generalist set giving Klee additional ATK and Pyro DMG.
  • Crimson Witch of Flames is best if you want to build Klee in a Vaporize, Overloaded or Burning team.
  • Lavawalker is best in a Mono-Pyro team composition. This set will increase the elemental reaction DMG by 40% and gives Klee a 15% Pyro DMG bonus. the DMG dealt by enemies affected by Pyro.

Regardless of which artifact set/team composition chosen, Klee's stat priorities do not really change.

3.

Klee Combos and How to Play

Klee is a character that can feel very clunky to play if you don't know how to cancel her long animations. Her Normal attacks combos are very, very slow. Most of her damage comes from her Normal Charged Attacks, but is easily staggered. If Klee gets hit mid-animation during her Normal or Charged Attack, things will go south extremely fast.

The good part? Almost all her kit has a way of cancelling the long animations! This is due to the fact that Klee can move between combos without those being cancelled. The goal will be to interrupt your animations by dashing or jumping mid-combo. Once you know how to cancel, she is actually rather easy and fun to play.

3.1.

Klee's Animation Cancellations

When playing Klee, you can cancel the following animations:

  • Normal Attack: While you will mostly use Klee's Charged Attacks, if you're out of Stamina and you need to spam her Normal Attack, you want to hold a directional key/your joystick, while you click on the Normal Attack. This basically lets you spam the Normal Attack faster, and deal more damage.
  • Normal Attack - Jump or Dash: If you don't manage to get the Machine Gun timing right, you can instead cancel by dashing or jumping in between attacks. Dashing is easier but depletes your stamina. Jumping can make you more vulnerable so keep that in mind.
  • Charged Attack: Those animations can be cancelled by using a Normal Attack right after the laser fires. This can be done by basically double clicking. You can also Dash in-between.
  • Machine Gun Into Charged Attack: If your goal is to get more chances to trigger Explosive Sparks, you can Machine Gun before double-clicking for the Charged Attack cancellation.
  • Double Charge Attack: You can force two Charged Attacks one after another to benefit from the the same Explosive Spark if you cancel the animations. In order to do so you need to use Klee's Elemental Skill first, if you got an Explosive Spark you directly use a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Dash, and another Charged Attack. This should give you two "free" Charged Attacks that won't consume stamina. You only consume the Dash's stamina.
  • Elemental Burst: Klee's burst can be used to cancel any animation. if your Burst is up, you can theoretically cast it right before the last attack is fully released. The burst will cancel the animation. However, be careful if you want to cancel the Skills' animation: Jumpy Dumpty can be completely cancelled if you do it too early! You have to use the Burst right after Jumpy Dumpy leaves Klee's hand.

Once you get the hand on Klee's animation cancellations, the rest of her gameplay is not very hard. One important thing to know is that Klee's Charged Attack is your most powerful attack. If you can, always prioritize the Charged Attack over Normal Attack. Charged Attacks from Klee can also help you stunlock enemies very easily, giving you an opening to unleash the rest of her power!

Here is Klee's recommended rotation:

  • Use Klee's Elemental Skill to build energy. Once charge is usually enough.
  • Spam Normal and Charged Attacks until your Burst is ready
  • Switch to your supports BEFORE using Klee's Burst
  • Use your supports' abilities
  • Switch back to Klee and unleash her Burst
  • Don't switch her out until her burst is over, as this will cancel it
  • Spam Normal and Charged attacks
  • Use your remaining Jumpy Dumpty charges before the burst ends
  • Repeat

One last thing to note is that you will notice a Floating Golden Flower next to Klee when an Explosive Spark is available.

4.

Klee's Best Team Comps

Klee is somewhat limited for team composition types, mainly focusing on Mono Pyro teams, as she can mostly be used as a Main DPS, requiring teammates that can support her while she is on-field.

4.1.

Klee Mono-Pyro Teams

Main DPS Support Sub DPS Support
Klee Bennett Mavuika Xilonen
Klee Bennett Mavuika Lan Yan
Klee Bennett Xiangling Thoma
Main DPS Support Support Support
Klee Bennett Zhongli

Klee works incredibly well as a Main DPS in a Mono-Pyro team. Bennett is her best support, and you do not want to go without him. A Swirl unit such as Venti or Kaedehara Kazuha can be useful as they will pack together Klee's bombs with the enemies, making sure your Klee detonates everything onto the enemies directly. If you don't feel safe enough, you can fill the final slot with a Shielder. Zhongli, Thoma, or Lan Yan for example are good options. Xilonen can also be a good alternative as she brings additional RES shred and healing.

4.2.

Klee Vaporize Teams

Main DPS Sub DPS Support Support
Klee Furina Bennett Kaedehara Kazuha
Klee Bennett Kaedehara Kazuha

Klee can also be played in a Vaporize team. On of her best partner for this is Furina! Furina can both buff Klee and take advantage of her Pyro application to trigger Vaporize. On top of that, she allows Klee to use Marechaussee Hunter which gives a massive DMG boost to Klee. Yelan and Xingqiu are perfectly good options if you do not have Furina! You will want to keep Bennett and Kaedehara Kazuha for their respective buffs.

4.3.

Klee Overload Team

Main DPS Sub DPS Sub DPS Support
Klee Fischl Kujou Sara Chevreuse
Klee Fischl Yae Miko Chevreuse
Main DPS Sub DPS Support Support
Klee Fischl Bennett Chevreuse
Klee Mavuika Iansan Chevreuse

Overload teams are also a viable composition for Klee. Especially with Chevreuse which is a very good support for Klee. Chevreuse Shreds both Pyro and Electro, as well as an ATK % buff and some additional healing. Paired with characters such as Fischl and Bennett , it makes a powerful team that Klee can lead! There are a few variations possible for the Overload team with Klee, if you don't have Chevreuse, or your Fischl and Bennett are already busy in another team.

4.4.

Klee Burgeon Teams

Main DPS Hydro Dendro Flex
Klee Xingqiu Nahida Baizhu
Klee Xingqiu Nahida Sangonomiya Kokomi

Burgeon teams with Klee are all about adding to Klee's explosive potential by using Dendro cores. These cores are created between Dendro and Hydro reacting to one another. Nahida and Xingqiu are a very good duo when it comes to create a ton of Dendro cores. Klee will then blow everything up with her vast AoE damage hitting a lot of cores at the same time. The 4th slot is rather flex. You can had a support such as Baizhu or Sangonomiya Kokomi.

4.5.

Klee Burning Teams

Main DPS Pyro Dendro Support
Klee Xiangling Emilie Bennett
Klee Xiangling Nahida Bennett

Burning is another reaction Klee can use. Emilie or Nahida are the perfect Dendro units for this reaction, as their kit can easily support or buff it. They both have good Dendro application, and combined to Xiangling and Klee, you will be able to keep the enemies burning down. Bennett is your best support for this, as he will buff and heal Klee.
