A new reaction is on its way in Genshin Impact! The Lunar-Charged reaction was revealed through leaks a couple of days ago, and early testers are already going over the numbers. Thanks to some good old-fashioned testing from the team at Team Fortune, we’ve got a first look at how the upcoming Lunar-Charged reaction works.
This new Electro-Charged upgrade is linked to Ineffa‘s passive, called Assemblage Hub. It converts Electro-Charged into Lunar-Charged, scaling its base damage with her ATK: +0.7% per 100 ATK, up to 14% max.
That’s not all: the actual damage formula also scales with Elemental Mastery (EM) and CRIT stats, making it more like a full damage reaction than traditional transformative ones.
Day 1 Testing, Cave Style
Team Fortune notes that this was all tested manually: “no Chinese datamine magic,”as they say, and might still have some minor inaccuracies. But based on the formula shared, here’s the main idea when two or three units contribute to a Lunar-Charged reaction:
- More EM = more damage (especially early)
- More CRIT = better damage scaling (especially later on)
- Reactions with 3 contributors dilute individual impact (e.g., 1st unit gets full, 2nd gets half, 3rd only 1/12th)
Community Reaction: EM vs. CRIT Math Time
Over on Reddit, one player dug deeper into how EM and CRIT Value (CV) affect Lunar-Charged’s scaling. You can take a look at the original post here:
We’ll point out the main idea from the post:
- 100 EM ≈ 34 CRIT Value in impact (actually ~33.26)
- Early EM stacking gives massive returns, ideal for support-style builds
- High-end damage (15k–20k per tick) is possible with good investment (e.g., 1500 EM, 440 CV hit 27.5k)
- For mid-range builds (300 EM, 300 CV), you can expect ~9k per reaction tick
Best Investment Path? Depends on What You Already Have
The Redditor also showed that if you already have a lot of EM, adding CRIT gives more return, and vice versa. As a quick example:
- At 300 EM and 202 CV:
- Gaining 34 CV gave ~29% more damage
- Gaining 100 EM gave ~25% more damage
- So investing in CRIT was better here.
Basically, Lunar-Charged turns Electro-Charged into a fully scaling reaction tied to ATK, EM, and CRIT. The damage is surprisingly strong, especially in duo setups. Early EM stacking means great, but CRIT becomes better later. Fully optimized, you could be seeing 20k+ ticks in top-end builds.
Of course, keep in mind that all info is based on day-one testing and theorycrafting. Details could change before release.
