The latest Genshin Impact 5.7 beta leaks have shed light on one of the mechanic for Skirk called Death’s Crossing, which is tied to her second Ascension passive. This powerful buff has triggered player curiosity, particularly around its activation and synergy requirements.

What Is Death’s Crossing?
Death’s Crossing is Skirk’s second Ascension passive, triggered when certain elemental conditions are met. The mechanic is described as follows:
- Name: Return to Oblivion
- Effects:
- When nearby Hydro party members deal Hydro DMG, or when nearby Cryo party members (excluding Skirk) deal Cryo DMG, Skirk gains the Death’s Crossing effect for 20 seconds. This can stack up to 3 times, with each stack’s duration calculated independently.
- Each character can provide Skirk with one stack of Death’s Crossing through their elemental damage.
- Each Death’s Crossing stack increases the Normal Attack DMG dealt by Skirk in Seven-Phase Flash mode by 110%/120%/170% of its original DMG and increases the DMG dealt when using her Elemental Burst Havoc: Ruin by 105%/115%/160% of its original DMG.
Activation Conditions: How Does It Work?
One of the most discussed aspects of Death’s Crossing is its activation condition. For the effect to trigger, teammates must deal more than 0 damage. This means that if enemies are immune to the specific elemental damage (e.g., Hydro Tulpa being immune to Hydro), Skirk will not gain stacks from nearby Hydro allies like Furina. This important detail may influence team composition and strategy when planning to optimize Skirk’s damage output.
