A clever new tool has popped up in the Genshin Impact community that might just save you a massive amount of regret (and Dust of Enlightenment). Built by a player and shared on Reddit, this tool calculates your odds of successfully upgrading an artifact through the new reshaping system introduced in Version 5.7 and is simple and easy to use.
Predict Your Artifact Upgrade Outcomes
Artifact reshaping allows players to reroll the stat distribution of a fully enhanced +20 artifact by spending the new item Dust of Enlightenment. While it guarantees at least two substat upgrades across your chosen priorities, results can still vary widely depending on your starting piece. That’s where this tool comes in.
After entering your artifact’s basic data – such as the piece type, main stat, and number of total upgrades – you then input the four substats along with their numerical values. Which it will then calculate the chances of this being an upgrade.
With Dust of Enlightenment being such a scarce resource, only 2 currently being available and only a handful per patch from the Battle Pass and endgame modes, you likely have multiple artifacts that could be worth spending Dust on. This allows you to know which artifacts have the highest chances using a Monte Carlo simulation and “rerolling” 100,000 times!
Artifact Rerolling GuideExample of Where This May be Beneficial
To give an example from my own selection of artifacts. My Hu Tao is arguably my best-built character that i have spent a long time farming for. With a 49 Crit Value (CV) flower and an on-piece Pyro goblet which has allowed me to use a 40.4 CV extremely good sands as the off-piece instead. The only issue being that the Goblet is pretty unlucky.
Therefore i could enter the stats of this goblet into the tool and see the chances of it rolling better.

In this case, it would be a guaranteed upgrade is i only have 1 Crit roll and the reroll system grants at least 2 good rolls. That being said, in this situation i’m likely going to wait until i have 4 guarantees instead in a few patches down the line.
