If you’ve played Honkai: Star Rail, you know how warping works. Trailblazers collect Stellar Jades and Star Rail Special Passes, then trade them for new characters and Light Cones. Sometimes you’ll lose the “50:50”, but that’s okay! You can at least get something you want… right?
According to not one, but several users over on the official r/HonkaiStarRail subreddit, they have received unexpected characters after losing on Character Event Warp banners. If you’re unfamiliar with the Celestial Invitation system, here’s a quick run-down:
- The Celestial Invitation only works on Character Event Warps (new and returning) and Character Collaboration Warps. You can’t use it on Light Cone Event Warps, Stellar Warps, nor Departure Warps.
- Celestial Invitation allows you to choose a selection of pre-determined characters. If you don’t win the featured 5-Star Character, you’ll get one of the Celestial Invitation characters instead.
- You can change the selection at any time before or after warping.
Losing the gacha to characters you like is SO much better than pulling someone you don’t want, or already have enough Eidolons for. (Any Yanqing fans around?) But what if that wasn’t the case?
Fu Xuan was NOT on the Celestial Invitation List
In the case of Reddit user basedfranky, this Trailblazer lost their gacha pulls to Fu Xuan. While Fu Xuan is a decent Preservation character, she was not in the player’s selection of Celestial Invitation characters.
While Fu Xuan was recently added to the Celestial Invitation pool, you can only select 7 characters at a time: no more, no less. Out of all possible characters in the catalog, getting someone not on a player’s list is supposed to be impossible!
This is a nasty bug, especially since players may spend hundreds, even thousands, of real-life currency just to warp on Honkai: Star Rail’s gacha banners. There’s also the upcoming Collaboration Warps that many players are looking forward to!
How Do I Keep My Account Safe?
So how do you avoid losing all your money to an unexpected issue with no solution in sight? What if this bug can’t ever be reversed?
- Use the in-game Bug Report option! You can find this in your Phone menu and on the Oneiric Trade menu in the Shop.
- Avoid spending your Stellar Jades (and real-life money) on gacha game banners! Easier said than done though…
- Wait for an official fix from the Honkai: Star Rail devs! The more feedback they receive, the higher chance they will fix this bug ASAP!
Unfortunately, there is no news yet on how this bug will be resolved. Maybe this Trailblazer will just have to live with a new Fu Xuan on their account… For their sake, I hope they can discuss or receive proper compensation!
I know everyone is excited for the upcoming Fate/Stay Night collaboration events and warps, but let’s stay cautious about spending our valuable Stellar Jades!
