Ritual Archive: Pieces

In the Ritual Archive, you can review the various Pieces you can obtain and collect in battle. Each piece has its own Tier Level, Combat Effect, Class Bond, and Banquet Invitation. During the Holy Grail War ritual, you can obtain pieces using Star Coin purchases or thanks to certain Command Spells.
For more information on Bonds and Command Spells, see the relevant Ritual Archive sections. For more information on Star Coins, see the Ritual Gameplay: Gameplay Features section.
Rarity
There are a total of four Rarities, and each one has its own appearance rate, which changes with each passing day in the Holy Grail War ritual. The following rarity values can also be adjusted by obtaining the Command Skills Mystery Transform I and Mystery Transform III, or by playing on Corruption Level 7.

Day 10 | 15.0% | 20.0% | 30.0% | 35.0% |
How to Level Up Combat Effects
Obtaining more copies of the same piece gives Experience, which can level the piece's Tier up and improve its combat effect. The following number of copies are required to reach the maximum level, regardless of which Rarity the piece belongs to:
Tier Level | Required Copies/Experience (Total) |
---|---|
Tier 1 | Base Level upon Obtaining 1 Copy |
Tier 2 | +2 Copies to Level Up (3 Total) |
Tier 3 | +3 Copies to Level Up (6 Total) |
Tier 4 | +3 Copies to Level Up (9 Total) |
Each piece is unique and cannot be obtained in the ritual again after reaching Level 4.
Ritual Archive: Bonds

In the Ritual Archive, you can review Class Bonds and Banquet Invitations. These are Bond Effects that activate upon obtaining a certain number of related pieces.
Class Bonds are formed when obtaining pieces that share the same Class. Whereas the Banquet Invitation can be activated using a wide variety of pieces.
Bond Effect's Tally Level
To increase the Bond Effect's tally level, you must obtain unique pieces that fulfill the Bond's criteria. You can also increase it by obtaining the related Heart's Call Command Spells. If you sell the pieces required, the tally level will decrease or deactivate.
When Collaboration Characters Saber and Archer are in your team, the relevant tally level will also increase by 1. This only applies in Rituals at Corruption Level 5 or higher.
Ritual Archive: Command Spells

In the Ritual Archive, you can review Command Spells that you can obtain progressively throughout the Holy Grail War ritual. These provide permanent effects that cannot be removed after obtaining.
The permanent effects can be instantly used, such as obtaining additional Star Coins or unlocking an additional piece slot. They can also be passive effects across the entire ritual, such as Gold Transmute I, or manipulate your piece odds at the Store. To learn more, consult the Ritual Archive in-game.

You can only obtain a new Command Spell on Days 2, 4, and 6 of the Holy Grail War ritual. In addition, some Command Spells are only available at certain Corruption Levels and above.
During the Holy Grail War ritual, you can refresh the Command Spell selection at Corruption Levels 2 and above. You have a limit of one refresh per selection, up to nine refreshes per ritual. If you have the False Attendant's Writings Mystic Code, you can increase the number of refreshes available temporarily.
Ritual Archive: Noble Phantasm/Mystic Codes

In the Ritual Archive, you can review Noble Phantasms and Mystic Codes that you can obtain progressively throughout the Holy Grail War ritual. There are three Tier Levels for each: Hollow, Synthetic, and The Hunt. Depending on the Tier Level of the Noble Phantasm or Mystic Code, it may have a better or worse effect.
You can improve its effect by obtaining multiple copies throughout the Holy Grail War ritual. However, there are some Noble Phantasms and Mystic Codes that may be:
- Only available starting in the next battle
- Obtained and lost repeatedly

You can only obtain a Noble Phantasm/Mystic Code on Days 3, 5, and 7 of the Holy Grail War ritual. You can only select one Noble Phantasm or Mystic Code to obtain each day, up to three per ritual.
Gameplay Features

The event's primary goal is to participate in a Battle Royale of eight characters (including yourself) across several days. Each day features one battle against an Enemy Servant. You can review the opponent's details and adjust your lineup before starting the battle.
Ritual Battles and HP

The goal in each battle is to survive until either:
- All of the enemies are defeated, or
- The limited Action Cycles are over

If you win the battle, the damage dealt to the Enemy Servant's HP is calculated based on the following factors:
- Base DMG per Day (increases over time)
- Remaining Action Cycles (+100% DMG per Additional Action Cycle)
- If Banquet Invitation: Cruiser Supervisor is active (Extra DMG, increases over time)
To progress to the next day, you are not required to defeat the Enemy Servant. However, you will take HP damage instead, and your ranking will be lowered. If your HP or the final Enemy Servant's HP hits 0, the ritual will end.

Your performance in each battle can be adjusted by improving your Abilities. The Ability Details screen helps you review what Pieces, Bonds, Command Spells, and Noble Phantasm/Mystic Codes you currently have. See the Ability Details section for more information.

In addition, with each passing day, the other Enemy Servants will also gain Enhanced Affixes, which have various rarities and effects. This can make your battles harder to win over time.
Ritual Conclusion and Reward Points

At the end of the ritual, your total Mechanical Rating will be calculated, and you will be given a set number of Reward Points from the run. They can be used to obtain rewards from the event's Point Rewards feature.
Your Mechanical Rating determines what ranking you will place each day. Notably, only the ranking on the final day matters when calculating your total Reward Points for the run.
You can also review what Command Spells, Pieces, Class Bonds, Noble Phantasms and/or Mystic Codes you obtained during the ritual. In addition, there is also a record of the last team you used on the final day.
Piece Management
After completing your battle each day, you have the opportunity to purchase Pieces in the Store. Obtaining more pieces will add or improve combat buffs and Bonds. You can also obtain free Pieces or additional Star Coins based on your active Command Spells or Banquet Invitations.
For basic information on what Pieces are, see the related Ritual Archive section.

You can manipulate the Store's selection of Pieces by refreshing with Star Coins, or depending on which Banquet Invitation and/or Command Spell is active. You can review the added Combat Buff or Bond Effect(s) before purchasing.
If you purchase a Piece identical to one you already own, it will increase the Piece's experience (EXP). After obtaining enough experience, the Piece's Tier can level up and increase its selling price.
Obtained Pieces can be resold at either the same or higher price for Star Coins. Star Coins are used to purchase Pieces, or refresh the Store for a different selection. Free Store refreshes are available when the Banquet Invitation: Origami Lecturer is active, or if you have certain Command Spells.
Each day will also unlock a new Piece Slot, increasing the number of Pieces you can hold at a time. You start with five Piece Slots by the end of Day 1, and it increases up to ten Piece Slots by Day 6. You can also increase the Piece Slots permanently using the Stars' Wishes XIV or Mystery Transform IV Command Spells.
Command Spells

On Days 2, 4, and 6, players can also obtain Command Spells. These increase your chances of winning the Holy Grail War ritual, but you can only obtain up to three per ritual. For more information, see the relevant Ritual Archive section.
From Corruption Levels 2 and above, you can also refresh each option once before selecting.
Noble Phantasms and Mystic Codes

On Days 3, 5, and 7, players can obtain Noble Phantasms and/or Mystic Codes. Most of these directly impact your battle performance, but you can only obtain up to three per ritual. Collecting multiple copies can improve or refresh its effect. For more information, see the relevant Ritual Archive section.
Ritual Difficulty Mode Differences
In the Holy Grail War ritual, players can participate under two different difficulties: either the Protection Mode or Corruption Mode. Notably, the Corruption Mode provides various levels of Ritual Difficulties, and become more challenging when the Corruption Level is raised.
The tutorial mode The Night Before is only available at the start of the event. This is identical to the Protected mode of the Holy Grail War rituals, as the maximum number of Reward Points you can receive is the same.
Protection Mode

The Holy Grail War's Protection Mode allows players to understand the gameplay mode at the lowest difficulty possible. Playing Protection Mode offers:
- Enemy Servant strength is significantly reduced
- Fewer Reward Points obtained upon Battle Victory
- Same mechanical difficulty as Corruption Level 1
In addition, players can also trial the following characters in Protection Mode:
Upon completing a ritual under Protection Mode, you can obtain up to 200 Reward Points each run.
Corruption Mode

In Corruption Mode, players can challenge themselves by imposing several gameplay restrictions (or Enemy Buffs). The more challenges you add to the game mode, the higher your Corruption Level and Reward Points will be.
While playing in Corruption Mode, you will not have access to any Trial characters. However, the Enhancement Mapping feature is still available for characters with below average strength at your Equilibrium Level.
You can reach a maximum difficulty of Corruption Level 7. A new difficulty will unlock once you have completed the latest Corruption Level available. Each subsequent difficulty will feature the same Buffs as the last one. Consult the following table for more information on what difficulty adds which buffs.
Corruption Level | Reward Points | Ally Buff | Enemy Buff |
---|---|---|---|
Level 1 | 0 - 300 | + Unlocks more pieces and obtain some free pieces at the start of the game | + Each player receives a "Unique Skill" |
Level 2 | 0 - 400 | + Unlocks more Command Spells and gains one refresh during Command Spell selection | + Enemy ATK increases by 30% and HP increases by 40% |
Level 3 | 0 - 500 | + On Day 3/5/7, obtains 1 Noble Phantasm/Mystic Code | + Enemy players can obtain more powerful enhancement affixes |
Level 4 | 0 - 600 | + All Pieces have an additional Bond | + Enemy players can obtain more powerful Command Spell affixes |
Level 5 | 0 - 700 | + When the characters Saber and Archer is on the team, Saber/Archer Bond tally increases by 1 | + Max HP of Boss (Corrupted) multiplies by 2 |
Level 6 | 0 - 850 | + Obtain more expensive pieces at the start of the game | + After every day, enemy HP increases by 60% |
Level 7 | 0 - 1,000 | + There is a higher chance of golden pieces appearing in the Store | + Enemy players will obtain 1 golden enhancement affix(es) every 2 day(s) |
By Corruption Level 7, you can obtain up to 1,000 Reward Points per run. However, due to all of the added Enemy Buffs from previous difficulties, 1,000 Reward Points may be inconsistent to get per run.
Battle Tips and Tricks

If you are having difficulties with completing the event, you can consult the following tips:
- You only need to finish the ritual at a performance rating higher than No.5. At least four Enemy Servants need to be defeated before you should end or lose the ritual.
- If you cannot win a battle, try to defeat as many enemies as possible to reduce the DMG taken from failing.
- You do not need to play Corruption Mode to obtain any limited-time rewards. All of them can be obtained by completing Protection Mode instead.
- Each Enemy Servant's team will feature at least one common Type Weakness. Take advantage by using a team strong against those enemies.
- Do not be afraid to use characters that are underpowered. They will receive enhancement mapping for anything that needs help (Ascension, Stats, Light Cones, Traces, and Relics).
- You can change your team line-up before starting or restarting a battle.
- Some Bosses (Corrupted) are not present in the enemy lineup, but are listed in the Enemy Servant's affixes.
- Use the Echoes of Dreams to review the big data analysis across all of your ritual runs. You can focus on building around the best Compatibility Analysis for your Class Bonds.
If you need further advice on how to build effective teams for this event, consult the guides below.
