Is It Time for Monster Hunter Fans to Finally Leave Windows 10?

Capcom has issued an important notice for hunters still playing on Windows 10. The support for the OS, and therefore guaranteed compatibility for Monster Hunter games, will end on October 14, 2025.

“Microsoft will be ending support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. Therefore, as of the same date, we will no longer guarantee that Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Wilds will run on Windows 10 systems.
Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Wilds will still be possible to play on Windows 10 after October 14, 2025. However, future system updates or game title updates may make the game incompatible on Windows 10 systems.

What Is Happening?

Microsoft will officially stop supporting Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. Following that, Capcom will also no longer be able to guarantee that Monster Hunter: World, Rise, or Wilds will run on Windows 10.

You will still be able to launch and play the games after this date, but:

  • Future Monster Hunter updates could cause compatibility issues.
  • If problems happen, Capcom will not provide Windows 10-specific support.

What This Means for Players

If you are hunting on PC with Windows 10, things will not suddenly stop working on October 15.

But it is essentially a warning that if you want smooth performance and guaranteed compatibility moving forward, you will eventually need to upgrade to Windows 11 (or later).

Should You Upgrade Now?

If you are deep into Monster Hunter Wilds TU3 or planning to play the game long-term, upgrading before future title updates drop could save a lot of headaches.

With Wilds being updated regularly, and more collabs and events on the way, it is clear Capcom does not want hunters to get left behind.

The games won’t suddenly die on Windows 10, but as we mentioned, Capcom can not guarantee your hunts will be bug-free after October 14, 2025. Consider this your early heads-up to make the change.
